As a mockery to concern, scientists put a "Black hole button" on the LHC.
Kind of messed up.. but really hilarious!

    • hahaha, scientists with a cool sense of humour.

      I was looking into the LHC, and yes a black hole can be created (1% chance), but it will evaporate almost instantly and will do nothing to us or the LHC.

    • Those crazy scientists! Actually for those of you who were paranoid that we were all going to die here's a bit of info for you to worry about.

      It will take a month to six weeks to get the protons and heavy ions of lead up to near light speed before they begin crashing them together and forming mini black holes. So maybe the financial market melt down really won't matter after all.
