Hurricane Ike path of Destruction Houston pt 1

ike hit us here in kentucky yesterday, well it was a low pressure storm by then, but i saw that huge cloud rolling in as i drove me and sisters to church, and by the time we got out the wind had knocked out trees and leaves were everywhere. Power has been knocked out through much of the city, except my apartment and my boyfriends apartment(complexes) and a few main streets, schools are closed today and tomorrow, and a state of emergancy has been declared for southern indiana, near louisville. The electric company here says that they won't have power back on for most of the area for up to 2 weeks. So the restraunts and fast food joints that are opened are slammed all day long and are running out of food fast. While this was happening however, everyone here thought it wouldn't cause so much damage because it never rained and was barely cloudy until about 5pm. It just seemed out of place for such wind damage, but the city will be in almost chaos for at least 2 weeks until people get their power back, and the ryder cup is like next week too i think. My parents drove for 3 hours last night trying to find a grocery store that was opened and had to sit at white castle last night for an hour waiting for food. Everything around my apartment has no power. It's really sad.
