International Day of Peace Sept 21: What are you and Your Country doing?

Image...
The United Nations' International Day of Peace - marked every year on September 21 - is a global holiday when individuals, communities, nations and governments highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace.

Established by U.N. resolution in 1982, "Peace Day" has grown to include millions of people around the world who participate in all kinds of events, large and small.

If you want to know what your country and City are doing and you want to be involved or even put on an event yourself, click the link above and find your country. You'll find that many countries and individuals are "Doing Something" to celebrate Peace, and you should too! Be the change you want to be, do something you want to be done in your life. We can all change the world together or individually, together we can change the world faster.

You can do something like:

What the picture here has..form a peace sign with people! naked or clothed! (a friend of mine did it with naked people)

Hang a peace sign on top of a mountain with your country flag (risks involved with this, do it only if you are an experienced climber!)

have a 'peace pipe party'...thats up to your imagination

wear a peace sign temp tattoo on your face

paint a peace sign on your car..temp or???

write a song for peace

write letters to world leaders

just do something for peace!!!

thank god america is killing as many terrorists as possible, and deposing dictators who stop on human rights.

THAT, will lead to longer peace that standing in a circle jerk.

kaffegeek: America is CREATING way more terrorists than any other country is right now. What would you think if somebody came to your country and bombed the hell out of it (children included)? Think about it.

Arts organization Create:Fixate presents “A.M.P. (Art.Music.Politics) A Political Art Show with Intention,”its first exhibition of self-evident political art with co-curation by Michelle Berc and Janice Markham. On Saturday, September 20, 2008, the eve of International Peace Day, the new downtown LA location known as Premiere Events Center will play host to AMP with two warehouses filled with politically charged and social-conscious artwork along with a live musical soundtrack provided by top local DJs and musicians.
