this is a brilliant film and the sentiment is true to the urban experience, this is the UK today and try to make more films about this theme.. guidance...

this will be a life long fight for this young man. if you can save lives and change hearts and minds, it is well worth it. there will always be killings, but he is doing something about it, fighting back. awesome.

Alex left us a webcam message which we showed after the film on our Brand Spanking New show (every Tuesday @ 11pm) and which will be on AGAIN on Sunday 21st September '08 at 9.30pm as part of our Bloodshed and Brotherhood season (www.current.com/bloodshed).
Here's how you can get involved...

I was really drawn in by this story. Is there more? It seem to have cut off after 1min.
-
good for you for making something good come of a bad thing. what are you doing with the money you make from the shirts?
-
I found this a truly heartfelt and powerful film. I would love to see a follow-up film to this (perhaps a year from now), in order to see the impact Alex's campaign has had on both the community and on Alex himself.
-
This is a fantastic film which truly conveys Alex's passion and conviction to make a difference.
The complexity of the problem of gun and knife crime is also expressed.
I would love to see this aired and discussed more widely, as this a national problem.

I met Alex at The Peoples March by chance at the beginning at Kennington Park. It was his T-shirt that made me stop him. He was humble and most of all has the passion to go far.
My Cousin CJ was killed to knife crime and I am not going to sit down and let his name be tarnished.
Alex is doing something positve and needs to be recognised and get the support he deserves.
well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
This is inspirational because young Alex Rose is determined to make a difference to the overwhelming violence which is sweeping the nation as we speak.
Alex has my full support he WILL be mentioned in my rap as a TRUE solider of peace. If you read this Alex add me to your friends I go by the name of Mike Burns on facebook. Holla
May the Heavenly Father guide and protect you always!

This is a powerful message brov, am ex gang member and this brings home reality of the problem we have on our streets. big up the man who puts STOP to all knife crime.
-
i admire his passion. he may not achieve the ultimate result he desires during his lifetime.... but it is a war worth fighting. if more people just had minds open enough to realize, that no matter who you are, or who you aren't, there is some common ground to walk side by side on. killing others, and hate crimes in general, are just a coward's way of dealing with issues out of their control... this young man is very brave.

This is a testament to the fact that anyone can change if they so choose to. Great story, great subject, great work.
-
Alex, I like dreamers and that is what you are. I have the greatest respect for your efforts and your personal conviction but it's still just dreaming.
What is the answer? You say you have it, so say what it is.
Dont let vanity get the better of you. You have helped a ten year old reach the conclusion that an inanimate object is bad. Ultimately that can only ever be pointless.
-
Congratulations! A great start on a very important project. Alex and Andy keep up the good work. There is much to do but persistence always wins out in the end.

There is something that is so pure and beautiful about a man with a dream. The look on Alex's face when he speaks about his dream, the gleam in his eye when he was remembering the shooting he saw as a child, are outward reflections on the struggle that is going on inside of him. To me, it made me wonder why am I sitting infront of my tv and not out making the same kinda difference Alex is!!
Top notch, Alex!! -
Mr. Alex Rose...
You can make a difference...every time your journey becomes heavy and the problem seems out of hand, remember that those of us that have chosen to help and fight the problems have chosen a tough path, and all the more reason to meet each new day with greater strength and courage....may God bless you fellow soldier...

I'm very impressed and glad to see that there are young people out there who are working for a real cause that isn't based in selfishness. I hope more people join with you to help decrease the crime scene that seems to be so prominent in England. And maybe there are people here in the states who can be inspired by your activism and start campaigns in their own neighborhoods.

amazing :D

All the young lads, strewn across the lawn.
For what purpose, now forever gone. -
He has passion and he's on the right track. This campaign is one that should be supported by anyone that can get involved. This is great. "Less talk, more action."
