Antidepressants 'may harm sperm'

Image...
Drugs taken by millions of men to alleviate depression may affect their fertility, say US scientists.

A small number of healthy men given the antidepressant paroxetine for four weeks had far higher levels of sperm with damaged DNA.

The results, reported in New Scientist magazine, do not necessarily mean these men would have serious problems becoming a father.

However, a UK fertility specialist said they were a "cause for concern".

If you are feeling depressed, pharmaceuticals will only add to your problems.
Everyone's brain works differently. How can they mass market a psychoactive chemical and claim that it will fix you. How do they know what my brains reaction will be?

The answer is that BigPharma does not know. So the plan of action that they reccommend is that you 'try' it. And if it doesn't work out you are told to try another antidepressant- and then another and then another. Like the guinea pigs we are.

Don't do it. There are better ways.

As rachelmaechel says don't do it, there are other ways!

DHEA, DIM, magnesium, tryptophan, fish oil, methyl-folate, just to name a few. Also remove mercury fillings, make sure you don't have sleep apnea, get tested for hidden food allergies Wheat is a big culprit. Get rid of heavy metals in your body with DMSA.

After 18 years of taking effexor after post partum, this has been a long journey of learning and getting better. Never stop any psyche medications suddenly, it can cause permanent damage. See withdrawal and recovery group on yahoo for guidelines if you want to quit these drugs or even if you are depressed, you can get better without big pharma drugs. Absolutely the best information I have found on this topic.
