Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin routinely notes her husband's Yup'ik Eskimo roots. But those connections haven't erased doubts about her in a community long slighted by the white settlers who flocked to Alaska and dominate its government.

Since she took office in 2006, many Alaska Natives say they've felt ignored when she made appointments to her administration, sided with sporting interests over Native hunting rights and pursued a lawsuit that Natives say seeks to undermine their ancient traditions...

You have to believe the Alaska Natives, Look what we did to the Indians here in the continental USA. I am sure she would put a drill in an eskimo and ship them off to Russia!

It has been said repeatedly by some of her closest friends and acquaintance's that she is a master at saying exactly what people want to hear. She will say and do anything to win, she cannot accept loosing.

The McCain campaign has touted her 82% approval rating, but those poll results are based on an average of a select group that actually voted, and not the populace as a whole. As more attention is paid to Palin and Alaska in general, the greater the poll base she is subjected to and scrutinized by. As a result, her latest polls show a 20% drop.

After her brief time in the sun, the bloom is definitely starting to fade.

McCain was "maverick" enough to select her , but not enough to dump her.

If Sarah Palin can't even help the natives of her own state, how in the world are we supposed to trust her when it comes to our country? There are a great many women in this country that are fit to lead a nation; she's not one of them, (not that McCain picked her just for being a woman or anything...)

Why would McCain dump her when he's already invested so much time and energy vetting her?

At this point in the campaign it's too late to have another 15min phone call with someone (which seems to be the labrious "vetting" process McCain went through before selecting Palin).

McCain didn't have time to read a 3 page bailout summary....apparently he only had time to profess his support for it, not enough to actually read it.

He barely had time to do a 90min debate with Obama before he had to fly back to Washington and single-handedly save the economy.

Trying to squeeze in another 15min phone call to vet another VP at this stage of the game is probably unrealistic.

Although there is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits former Presidents from running as VP's.

Maybe he could call Bush and bring his bromance with the Decider full circle?

This is a very unbalanced attack add, that makes the anti-republican or pro-democrat crowd feel good, but is lacking in journalistic integrity, [as are most political commentaries]

The simple fact is that Palin's approval rating is 82% in Alaska, which is astonishing because mose of congress has very low approval ratings in the 10 to 20% range.

Regardless of what you think of Palin, she is one of the most approved of and popular policiticans of our time, and this frivilous add trys to suggest she is not, so it is a misleading and biased bit of propaganda that makes inferences which are false to mislead the viewer or reader. I find it offensive for this reason.

    82% approval?

Well, if ANY politican is able to reduce taxes (and hand out free money to citizens) simply by taxing massive oil companies then, hey, they will achieve a 82 percent approval rating. It's practically a mathematical formula. It's not because she actually "did" anything.

But once you take away the free cash Palin is giving away by taxing the local oil comanies....then what's left?

    What are her grand accomplishments?

    Zero.

And even free cash only buys you good will for so long.....just ask President "Stimulus Check" Bush.

Fred4Justice ...that last video insert does not make pro democrat anti republican people feel good. In fact, that video was a prime example of the politics of fear. Any thinking person would dismiss it entirely. However, the possiblility of an unready Palin assuming the Presidential office should the 72 year old McCain die in office is a viable and fearful issue.
And just for the record...Palin's approval rating WAS 82%. It is no longer.

When I do a google search of Palin's approval rating, it always leads to articles showing 80% to 90% range, h ere is one that puts her over 90%, saying she is the most popular governor:

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/013/851orcjq.asp

the false inferences made by this piece suggests she is unpopular at home, which is simply not true for Palin, while it is true that almost all other politicians have very low approval ratings and are unpopular.

that is why I find this piece to be offensive and misleading, it would be like someone trotting out 1 chinese student bad at math, then claiming, or making the misleading inference, that chinese are bad at math, when in fact it is shown that chinese students on average have higher math scores on average.

journalists or posters that use these misleading tactics deserve no respect.
