A few years ago Poland was seen as "the US trojan horse" in Europe. That was when Donald Rumsfeld declared he has full support of "new Europe" over the war in Iraq and Jacques Chirac said that Poland "lost a good opportunity to shut up".
The staunch popular support, however, is fading away. According to Polish daily, "Gazeta Wyborcza", there are now more Polish people believing that the US has negative effect on world politics than those who think otherwise.
