I've never gotten the appeal of energy drinks. The ones I've had tasted horrible and they didn't do anything to keep me awake and/or alert like I thought they would. I remember hearing something on the news maybe a week or so ago that talked about the amount of caffeine found in them and how damaging that can be to the body... just wish I paid closer attention so I could add to what's already been said. But my stance on this is energy drinks should only be labeled more accurately and include a warning. Letting people know that there are risks involved in consuming certain amounts of the product or with alcohol should be included in the packaging at the very least. People should know what could potentially happen to their health if they continue using it.

In something totally unrelated: I want that hat you're wearing, Jael. = )

Man, energy drinks blow. I don't know why people think they need all this caffeine in the first place. What do they do for you anywase?

I say there's nothing wrong with a nice tall glass of orange juice, or a cup of coffee. Energy drinks can kiss it.

Why do people need energy drinks?

The same reason they need alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, and soda. To be socially accepted or they are straight up addicts.

I recently read that coffee can increase cholesterol and may be dangerous to one's heart health. You can see the interesting article at http://click2loseweight.com/weight-loss-blog/coffee-raises-cholesterol-and-blood-pressure

I believe that America's dependence on caffeine, sugar, and gluten is the real problem. Removing these three from your diet and getting more exercise will make you realize that these drinks will only slow you down.

people often don't realize this, but Caffeine is a legal drug and we should treat it like so.

I use to drink Monsters working late nights at my job mainly because it was an energy drink and I was hoping it could keep me up for other 4 to 5 hours and it was did for an hour or so but after that I just simple crashed and now after watching more recent footage I won't be drinking anymore energy drinks. To tell you the truth I never would have drank monsters or any energy drink if I knew that it could have as much as 14 cans of coca cola in one can. Thats ridiculous.

it's obvious that energy drinks are exponentially increasing our collective need for caffeine. as with alcoholics, the more you abuse a substance, the more it takes to have the same effect.

Example: 20 years ago, a soda can was considered at least two servings.

    Drinkers beware.

What does it matter, people are going to consume them with Jaeger and other stuff for a "speedball" effect anyway.

It seems to me that different people digest caffeine differently, and therefore limiting drinks to a specific amount I think would be inefficient. By labeling the contents of the energy drinks, it could keep curious nutrition-savvy people at ease by informing of them exactly what is in their drink.
