Criminal mastermind uses Craigslist to orchestrate heist

Image...
A man successfully stole bags of money from an armored truck. The crook wore a yellow vest, safety goggles, a blue shirt, and a respirator mask during the robbery. Using a Craigslist posting, he was able to get a dozen unsuspecting people to come dressed the same way. This diversionary tactic allowed him to evade police.

Craigslist certainly is a collection of weird and wonderful social experiments.

You know the economy is bad when you have people responding to a craigslist ad without researching into it first. Pretty genius I have to say. It may very well be the next big Hollywood movie. Anyone want to help me make it?

I know, stealing is bad, but I wish all crimes were as amusing and non-violent as this one.

I thought the really interesting part was that he got away from the cops in an inner tube floating down the river. He's damn lucky the weather was still permitting here in the NW, otherwise we'd have found his hypothermic ass somewhere downstream...

The people who responded to this ad are probably the same people who bought Justin Timberlake's sandwich off of eBay.

Wow, seriously how different is this from those lames on Wall Street. He wore a costume, they all where the same costume, and both got away with someone else's money.

Now that's how 'thinking out of the box' helps achieve the seemingly unachievable.

i hope he was good enough with computers to make sure nobody knows who set up that craigslist ad. I always wonder if you keep money that you steal or take it to your bank to deposit it...
