Palin's Attack On Obama's Patriotism Raise Questions About Palins' Association With Secessionist

Image...
Sarah Palin attacked Obama's patriotism today over his association with former Weatherman Bill Ayers -- a move that makes it perfectly legitimate to raise questions about the Palins' associations with a group founded by an Alaska secessionist who once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed our "damn flag."

In Colorado today, Palin seized on the big front-page New York Times story about Ayers and Obama, which concludes that the two men "do not appear to have been close," to launch her most vicious attack yet on the Illinois Senator -- a harbinger of what's to come.

"This is not a man who sees America as you and I do -- as the greatest force for good in the world," Palin said. "This is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country."

If Palin is going to say this, it is now perfectly legitimate to point out that she repeatedly courted a secessionist group founded by someone who openly professed hatred of the American government, cursed our flag, and wanted to secede from the Union. Sarah's husband, Todd Palin, was a member of this group, which continues to venerate that founder to this day, for years.

People in California and Texas want to secede too. Hell, after all but one of my states delegation voted against the Wall Street bailout bill, I'm ready to secede myself.

The McCain camp keeps saying "If Obama would just do town hall meetings then everything would be fine." Utter horsehockey. The McCain camp had low numbers going into this game. They've been behind in electoral college numbers since the beginning. They can't take the "high road" because their policies are like Bush.

Therefore, smears. And Obama's large grassroots Internet following will bat it all down. Then, finally on the Fifth of November, the whole Internet will return to lolcats and all will be well.

...um, not to be nosy or anything but isn't trying to separate a state from within a democracy covered by laws against SEDITION? Isn't it a form of undeclared civil war? Isn't sedition the peacetime version of Treason?

    Any Constitutional lawyers out there?

So let's see, Obama is "seen" with a radical but "does" nothing.

Palin "joins" with and "supports" a group that is seditious.

    And he's the badguy?

    Not clever, this girl..

Of course Palin is questioning Obama's patriotism, it is a common PROPAGANDA technique. It's precisely what she MUST do because there is NO substance to the Republican platform of change-

Losers will do anything to create a "news" story about their opponent.

McShame is a loser in every way. He lacks integrity. He is a crybaby. He uses his war hero status as a martyr and to me that is the most disgusting.

He is losing therefore he is fabricating stories. Palin is equally as ugly.

You people don't seem to see how petty you sound. The Democratic party nominated for President a known associate of an unrepentent domestic terrorist who has said he wishes he had done more to bring down the United States. A man who claimed as his mentor for 20 years someone who accuses the United States of creating Aids in order to kill it's own citizens. Do you really believe anyone in America is going to pay attention to this story after that?

i don't think any intelligent person would listen to either story as they are both mostly bull shit.

obama isn't a terrorist or a terrorist supporter, and palin simply wants the feds to let her drill whereever she likes, alaska wouldn't be able to survive without government handouts.

i wish both sides would just shut up but the argument here is that if one side is going to play dirty the other side has the right to do so as well. that's fair...get over it

JohnA returns to standing on his head and insists he sees the world as it really is,

"You people don't seem to see how petty you sound. The Democratic party nominated for President a known associate of an unrepentent domestic terrorist who has said he wishes he had done more to bring down the United States."

A nice aggregate of assumptions signifying - nothing.

    Let's paraphrase it for him.

1/ "You don't seem to see how one-sided, biased and paranoid you sound. Why not?

2/ "a known associate" is a meaningless term. There is no criminal or even legal content to the term. Governor Palin is a "a known associate" of Senator McCain. Which is the guilty party? You have proved nothing. Not even guilt.

3/ "an unrepentent domestic terrorist" may or may not know or be known to many people. How many are equally guilty of whatever that person may have done? Are you seriously dumb enough to believe that a Harvard Law graduate would conspire with "an unrepentent domestic terrorist" to actually do anything rash or illegal to damage his own career? There is no evidence that the Democratic Party did not vet Senator Obama before he ran for the White House. There is every evidence that Senator McCain still remains clueless about the past history of his "known associate."

4/ "who has said he wishes he had done more" than what he actually did. So if I say I wish I had done something I didn't do, after I didn't do it that means that -

a/ I actually am as guilty as if did it?
b/ I actually intended to do what I didn't do?

c/ you are grasping at straws because your candidates are steadily tanking in the polls and you are in a panic?

nobamajon - nobrain-a-joe?- continues the smear campaign,

"Everything in one past is fair game. For instance, I'd like Barry to account for the two years in NEW YORK which he cant remember. Word is he lived with a CRACK dealer. So....how do you suppose he paid the RENT!!! Do you suppose this could be one of our OCTOBER surprise's?? Sounds like FUN."

    Two can play this game.

You'd better explain why word is you are a paranoid schizophrenic child molester who lived with a known terrorist and paid the rent by making kiddie porn..

    Prove you didn't. Hurry up.

    See?

It's easy to make the smear, isn't it?

Palin has been prepped by most excellent propagandists- although I'd guess she really doesn't even know it since she really is a hockey mom. This technique is called "PLAIN FOLKS" and Republicans have mastered it-

"By using the plain-folks technique, speakers attempt to convince their audience that they, and their ideas, are "of the people." The device is used by advertisers and politicans alike."

Palin: "Say it ain't so, Joe, there you go again pointing backwards again. You preferenced your whole comment with the Bush administration. Now doggone it, let's look ahead and tell Americans what we have to plan to do for them in the future. You mentioned education and I'm glad you did. I know education you are passionate about with your wife being a teacher for 30 years, and god bless her. Her reward is in heaven, right? I say, too, with education, America needs to be putting a lot more focus on that and our schools have got to be really ramped up in terms of the funding that they are deserving. Teachers needed to be paid more. I come from a house full of school teachers. My grandma was, my dad who is in the audience today, he's a schoolteacher, had been for many years. My brother, who I think is the best schoolteacher in the year, and here's a shout-out to all those third graders at Gladys Wood Elementary School, you get extra credit for watching the debate."

What Biden had just said: "...ask anybody in there whether or not the economic and foreign policy of this administration has made them better off in the last eight years. And then ask them whether there's a single major initiative that John McCain differs with the president on. On taxes, on Iraq, on Afghanistan, on the whole question of how to help education, on the dealing with health care."

well it's not anti-American to "hate" (or disagree) with your government now is it? I've heard lots of people say they'd like to escape to Canada or Mexico even. Many have.

Are we at a crossroads in our mentality where we have to "prove" our patriotism to one another because of mere suspsicions or some whack allegation/smear tactic? Aren't we smarter than that? If not, how sad...and how increasingly vulnerable we'll ALL become, eventually, for those taking that "higher" ground will use it against us like it was some badge of courage or some merit of service. Those prix rather need to be burned at the stake imho...
