Cool technology, but a pretty boring planet don't you think? We should be exploring the moons of the Gas Giants as well.

It's closest to the sun. That alone makes it fascinating.
I think it's a beautiful shot and mesmerizing to get so close and be that near to the most powerful star in our solar system.

WAY uglier than Earth. Sorry Mercury!

That's where sinners go when they die.
Also, I can't wait for the next 1,199 images. -
The most powerful star in our Solar system? Do you know of another, less powerful star in our Solar System? It happens to be the closest star, period. Proxima Centauri would be the next nearest at 4.2 million light years. I hope you aren't one who believes in Nemesis, the dark companion of the Sun, supposedly just hanging out in the Oort Cloud waiting to unleash its awful destruction upon us. If so, say no more.
Now that it is awesome to have terrific resolution photos of a planet that just gets the hell blasted out of it constantly with the Solar Wind cannot be denied. Science isn't a beauty contest, but if you ever want to see one of the most forbidding landscapes in all the universe, see above.

It looks like the Death Star.

lets go put an AMERICAN FLAG on it, or even a big ass sign that says "SPACE FOR RENT"

Does that make it habitable now? I don't think so... I think there's some relatively "simple" ways to make planets habitable, though I doubt any country would be willing to spend the money for it though... Actually, those ideas wouldn't really be so simple, though the thoughts leading up to them are. Let's see... think of the arch in Illinoise and "around the world," I think. Might have gotten the place wrong, I'm not sure.
I'd be cool to see what else is over there too... though any movement to try to inhabit it doesn't seem likely anytime soon.
