Owner's sign says Obama supporters can't park in his lot
Problem is he's got a contract with the state to allow state employees to park there. How can the state support this ?
If someone parks there with an Obama sticker he would ask them something "humorous", like "if they could speak English".
Welcome to North Carolina !

Everybody should be offended. A communist should NEVER be running for office. Where is your head?
-
Technically, he's free to do that as the owner of the place. And if that's his attitude, then why would I want to deal with him by trying to park there anyway?
I don't really understand what your comment about North Carolina has to do with anything though, that's a pretty prejudiced generalization. One guy in the state doesn't speak for it's entire population. Oh, wait, that's kind of how Congress works...damn.

Well sgwhites, I understand your confusion and I'm going to try to put it delicately, a lot of people get offended when black people don't know their place.
Out here in the bible belt a lot of people feel that god is white and made the earth for whites. White god put white man in charge of the family, woman follows her husband.
So what they tell me is that if a "black guy" gets in the Presidency, that would put a "black guy" over white men and that is not biblical. Next thing you know women will want to be in charge of men too and this is the End Of Times.
They recommended some books on people disappearing or vanishing or something. I hope they're just off their meds but I think they really believe that crap.
The worst part ? They said this with a straight face. Grown men, with mortgages ! I mean if these were some nuttjobs on the street I could understand but these are "normal" people. Well what passes for normal here.

Let's not all jump around and get excited. It's just a business joke.
Another parking lot could easily say McCain supporters can't park here.
People need to lighten up....

It's a free country
He can do what he wants
It's petty and shows the simplicity of his mindBut that's fine
That's the beauty of America
-
God I wish I could be there. I'd put several Obama stickers on my car, wear an Obama t-shirt, button and hat, and pretend to be completely deaf.
-
"If someone parks there with an Obama sticker he would ask them something "humorous", like "if they could speak English"."
To which I would reply, "That depends sir. I speak proper educated english well with few grammatical errors; however, I have still quite a way to go before I master the fanatical redneck asshole dialect that you seem to be speaking. If you would be so kind, perhaps you could help me learn the white trash dialect?"
If you don't want to vote for Obama fine. If you want to deny me service because I support Obama I'll be annoyed, but it is your right to refuse service. However, anyone who thinks it is witty to make an insulting comment based on nothing more than the fact that they don't like whom I support in the election will receive nothing from me but rude and insulting comments back. I'm not going to question anyones intelligence for supporting McCain. I'm only going to ask them to explain why they are supporting McCain. And if that person can't give me a good reason why they are voting for McCain (all you need to say is that you agree with his policies and that's a good enough response, yet people in real life tend to have such a hard time saying that) then I will tell them that they need to either look into why they are voting for their candidate. A vote is a persons voice, and if you are going to vote blind and based upon habits and not research, then you might as well not vote, because there is a 50 50 chance you are throwing your vote down the crapper.
Anyhow, getting back to the subject. In simpler and more vulgar terms, this guy can go fuck himself.

its free speech, he should be able to say anything he wants no matter how dumb it might be

Bah. Thinly veiled racism in sheep's clothing. Apparently, he's seriously offended so it's not a joke to him.

Ya'll, he's a dumbass that stands in a parking lot all day. Why does his ignorant, gap-toothed, cross-eyed, uncle-daddy, dirt-floor, shit-breath, monkey-butt, goat-fucker opinion matter anyway?

From what I can tell there is a HUGE difference between Obama supporters and McCain supporters.
Difference #1
First and foremost an Obama supporter would never think of doing something so outlandish as to refuse service to a McCain supporter. Wouldn't occur to us to do something so, uh, God what do you eve call it? Something so moronic and embarrassing.
Difference #2
At Obama rallies we chant: Go Obama! Yea!
At McCain rallies they chant: Kill Obama! Death to the commie! Die, Obama, Die!
Difference #3
When we "protest" McCain rallies we hold signs that say "Change" and shout out things such as "We disagree with McCain's tax policy!" or "We don't think women should have to pay for their own rape kits!"
When McCain supporters protest Obama rallies they bring lynching ropes, shotguns and shout out, "We gonna kill that colored Muslim boy! Kill him dead! Death to the Muslim Commie!"
So....there ya go.
I'm glad to be on Obama's team instead of on the team of nutjobs that support McCain.

Crob,
Your post is ridiculous, albeit sarcastic.
Obviously this story is pathetic. He has a right to do so, but it's pathetic.
To me it's no different than the musicians who are saying that the McCain campaign can't license their music but Obama can. Total BS, and so is this. It's absolutely no different. Shame on the Foo Fighters and Van Halen, shame on this guy.
-
You're right crob. Change is hard...and those people who are shouting "kill Obama" are scared because the world around them is changing. It's easy to hate them because they are so hateful themselves. But I'd rather give them my pity than to let them make me something I'm not.
-
Its very disingenuous to make the claim that both sides are equal and society is somehow being "unfair" by singling out the increasing odd and aggressive behavior of the McCain supporters. (That statement isn't directed at any person in particular)
Both sides are NOT equal in their attitudes.
One side is clearly -- clearly! -- more hostile, more aggressive and more inflammatory than the other.
And that is the side of the McCain supporters.
To claim that "both sides do it" is a lie to be perfectly frank....and it provides political cover to the McCain supporters.
For example: Both sides aren't shouting for the death of their opponent. Only one is and that's McCain's.
For example: Both sides aren't calling the other unpatrotic terrorists. Only one side is and that's McCain's.
If they start blowing up cars with Obama bumper stickers would any of us still make the arguement that it is "unfair" to single McCain supporters out for such tactics?
We cant shy away from hard truths and the hard truth is that the McCain supporters ARE acting worse than the Obama supporters.
Another hard truth is that certain types of people are DRAWN to that kind of hyper-agressive type of campaign mentality.
I want to adhere to the principles of political correctness just like all other Progressives...but we can't sacrafice reality to the alter of PC.
I know it seems rude to point out that one group is, to be blunt, "less than" another group.
But we can't let our reluctance to hurt people's feelings legitimize unacceptable behaviour and a lot of what McCain, Palin and their supporters are doing is crossing the line.
-
I spreche kein Englisch, schatz. Herr Obama fuer Prezident! ja wohl! Dieser Man ist sehr pathetisch......schade.....
-
Honestly, he has the right to do what he wants with his own business but, think about it, think how much money he's losing. This man is basically taking it back to the 50's with this discrimination. Whats the point??
-
Dude that guy is stupid. I know that we have freedom of speech and all but some things you just keep in your own self. If he wants to lose customers thats cool (even with our economy).
-
I agree crob, this is one sided. And to be clear, I don't have any problem with anyone calling out the McCain/Palin supporters who are acting this way for their hateful and frankly un-American behavior. But we can do it without crawling down to their level. Your post is proof of that.

I hope Obama supporters boycott his establishment. When he feels repercussions in his wallet, it won't be so funny!-

I think the important issue here (imho) is that we need to make clear distinctions between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour and I will even go so far as to say acceptable attitudes.
My own personal opinion is that the Left has (in many cases) let our misguided concepts of political correctness prevent us from taking moral standards.
The Right has had no such problems. They label almost everything, everywhere as evil and communistic. These guys find 10 commies before breakfast.
The Left has taken the attitude that no on is perfect, therefore we cannot and should not dare criticize or make moral judgements about others.
And I think OUR reluctance to call out the Right's behaviour as unaccetpable has actually fed them and encouraged them and amped them up!
These guys are screaming hate and no one on the Right and certainly no one on the Left is making them feel bad about is because one of our values is to be non-judgemental.
If we don't push back on this type of behaviour now -- at least verbally and philosophically -- then we are in effect condoning it.
We have a moral obligation to call the Right crazy when they act crazy.
Had we been louder, more vocal and, yes, much more judgemental of Bush's abuses at the beginning we might have tempered them.
Be we were cowed.
IMHO I see these guys getting worked up again and I'm not seeing much of a force counteracting them and saying loudly and clearly, "Enough! You are crossing the line!"
Calling someone a terrorist and a secret "agent" of some devious Muslim cabal needs to be taken seriously and we need to forcefully look the Right in the eyes and say, "Your crossing the line and acting insane. You paranoid delusions and hate speech are inciting people to violence and humilating this country worldwide. Sit the fuck down and act like a grown up or get kicked in the balls!"
Okay....maybe that's a little harsh.
Been hanging out with Republicans too long.
