I met Larry yesterday (Feb 17th, 2009) around noon on the Pinellas Trail while on a run. I am visiting from Canada and had no idea who Larry was so at first when he started running alongside me I was a bit nervous. Larry was very friendly and we had a nice chat. He told me about the newpaper article calling him the Flip Flop Man and the documentary about him. I was skeptical about the mileage he claimed to run. We parted when he left me to go get a carton of chocolate milk that he had placed in some shade earlier in the day alongside the trail. When I got back to my parents home in Largo, I googled him and found out it was all true! He is an "enigma". In some ways, he is even inspiring. Keep running Larry!
