A huge problem here in Jefferson county KY, at least in the Fern Creek/Glenmary area of Bardstown Rd., are the bikers that insist on having loud exhaust on their bikes. Another problem is the LMPD that seems to have a love affair with the bikers. LMPD refuses to enforce ordinances that prohibit loud exhaust on vehicles. Its totally out of control. Theres a Bar about a mile from where I live were I think every biker in Jefferson coutny 'hangs out'., and theres a police station a half a block away, and I've yet to see a biker pulled over getting a citation. Its disgusting. Makes me want to move out of this stinking county.

The boom cars aren't as big a problem as the jet racket over certain parts of Louisville, Kentucky, especially at night. Can you believe the so called "leaders" of Louisville would have allowed it this long? Well, we know why. Money speaks, huh? But, try living under a constance jet racket and roaring noise almost nightly in certain parts of this town. And, it varies all the time. Some nights the racket begins at 2am, other nights it will begin at 4am. But it goes on and on, night and night. The jets belong to UPS. Dozens of UPS jets will roar over your house from to 2am to 5:30am, and literally everything in the house rattles and shakes. You are awakened out of your rest to a deafening racket! And it's not just one or two jets -- somethings it goes on hours and even into the early morning. And, like I say, it's not just one jet but sometimes dozens of them, one every 15 or 20 minutes, for hours and hours. You think you were living in a war zone. It's enough to awaken the dead. It has gotten so bad that I have developed severe tinnitus, a daily high-pinched whistling in my ears during wakening hours. But that's not all, sometimes this crap goes for a days, so that you can't sleep at night and you can't function during the day for lack of sleep. If I had the money I'd move. If I had a lot of money, I'd sue the Hell out of UPS for damage to my hearing and my health. They are a very, very abusive of the citizens to be operating a business in the community in this way. Very abusive!! They could, if they cared about the people of Louisville, schedule their damn jets to fly over during the day. But no, in typical big-bully corporation fashion, UPS flight services runs roughshoud over the citizens who don't have the resources to fight back. You notice that their jets never fly over the wealthy residental areas, and anyone with a lick of sense knows why. UPS would get its ass sued off of it flew over the Hurstborne area. But, no, its the Churchhill Downs area. But how mean-spirited, thoughtless and uncivil can corporations be when it comes to their precious profits, that they'd disrupt 1000s of people's rest night after night? Obviously big bully UPS is only interested in itself, and to Hell with the nighttime peace and quiet of the good citizens in certain parts of town. The UPS people who fly and schedule these jets really suck. They don't deserve to live in or come to Louisville. They have no regard for the peace and quiet of the people of Louisville. I'd like to see the damn people that fly the jets or schedule the jets try to sleep in my neighborhood for a month. Ha! No way. You can bet your ass they live a "safe" distance from the airport to protect their sleep and rest at night, as I'm sure UPS gets complaints about the noise on a regular basis. It shows once again the complete disregard for a community and it's non-wealthy citizens of how a large corporation will move in, make a number of key political connections and then think only of itself and it's big profits. To the devil with UPS. Someday they will fail, and I hope I'm here to see it.
To the devil with big corporations in America today, they'd done far more harm to the general wellbeing of our country than any good they claim to be providing by offering a few good jobs to a few select people. Screw 'em. Let's get back to small businesses, small mom and pop companies that offer good, thoughtful community services and products. - 2 years ago

Bead_StallCup, Thanks for sharing your experiences or better state, your bad experiences with the authorities in your locality. Believe me, it is happening here in San Francisco as well. You said:
"The boom cars aren't as big a problem as the jet racket over certain parts of Louisville, Kentucky, especially at night."
Bead_StallCup, When it comes to noise is not appropriate to compare but see each event as it is since they are all bad actions proceeding from the "society of extreme" that took over our rights in this Country. Boom cars are a violation of our rights as it is Aircraft flying low into residential airspace. They are all trespassing actions and they are all bad for people's health. FAA do trust that pilots won't do this type of incursions but FAA have not questioned that unfortunately we cannot trust the pilots to do the right thing since some already proved that they do not deserve to be left alone. The true fact is that these pilots do not deserve FAA's vote of trust. The other true fact is that these type of actions goes all the way up to the Federal and Local authorities that lack enforcement because of overloads and old system of controls. Another true fact is that several Federal Laws must be challenged and people in the Government responsible to oversee this matter also needs to be called to attention with fines or move out.
The biggest mistake is to leave them to their own devices. We need responsible Federal Agency with teeth going after the violators being them Commercial or Government personnel.

The reason they don't fly over some neighborhoods, is because those neighborhoods are not in the 'flight path' of the runways. Simple, but true.
