Links between Noise Pollution and Personal Health

Studies are beginning to reveal that noise-related stress can negatively
affect our health and wellbeing, sometimes significantly so.

Unwanted noise also makes us feel powerless and potentially more aggressive.

The UK Office of National Statistics shows that there are 5 times more
complaints about noise than there were 20 years ago.

Other studies have shown that half a million people moved home in 2006 to
escape a disturbing noise.

    • in Japan especially Tokyo noise is a real problem as so many stores blare music and commerical jingles while store hawkers holler into mics at passerbys.

    • You've just proved my point....

      1. "If you have ever lived or worked somewhere that was noisy, you know that it can have a seriously negative impact on your life."

Words like 'lived' and 'worked' are talking long term. No argument that someone stopping next to you with loud music adds to this. When you consider the large number of other loud noises you expose yourself to on a daily basis, a minute or two is minor.

      2. "Unwanted noise also makes us feel powerless and potentially more aggressive. The risk of having a heart attack or stroke is increased; in fact it is estimated that 3% of ischeamic heart disease, which is the most common cause of death, is caused by noise."

You're arrogance and thought that you are king of your castle and everyone else's causes you a significant amount of stress because you refuse to keep you nose out of it! That phase above is talking about self-inflicted stress.

Yes, I have called the police when the kids next door have been partying and carrying on at 3AM and have done so for several hours. Do I think it is a crime if someone drives down the street and I hear their music for the two seconds it takes to pass by? No. I have my priorities straight.

Unlike other people in this world, I'm not concerned about it. There are far more important things to deal with. If you want to get hot headed and angry because someone is 'invading your personal space', which sounds like that might require blocks rather than feet, the only person that is affected by it is you!

I suggest that if you are bothered so easily, move to the farm or the mountains where you aren't bothered by anyone and are not starting fights with others! Until then, see about getting some sedatives and find something to do with the time you spend getting upset over stupid stuff.

Thank you, good luck, and try not to stress yourself out.

You sure got yourself all confused about it. I never said anything about anger or it angers me. The articles I post is to teach others on the issue of Acoustic Pollution. You are mistaken all along to whom you are directing your words to. Try to learn a bit before post your words would you?
