The small Dutch community of Maasdriel has recorded a stunning 44% rise in baby births nine months after a two-day power cut caused by severed power-lines plunged its 23,000 inhabitants into darkness.

Guess it was also too dark to find the condoms, eh?

  I hope it was worth it & that these children will be properly nurtured. We certainly do not need any more mouths to feed just because you couldn't find the birth control either.

- Years ago in ohio, 1976 to be exact. A blizzard hit the Cincinnati area. The City was all but shut down, needless to sat 9 months later their was an increase of about 35% in baby's being born. Who would have thought ?

- Hospitals know that when there is a significant power outage in their area they'll need to increase staff 9 months later.
