PUEBLO - A six-month old baby is fighting for her life after an overnight shooting. Now, police are trying to find out who's responsible. It happened in Pueblo in the 800 block of East Fifth Street, near Hudson. It all happened at the house on East Fifth about 12:30 Thursday morning. Investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what occurred.

The shots woke up people in the neighborhood. Just across the street, one couple called 911. "We heard a gun shot go up, so I jumped up and looked out the window," says Rick Berry, who lives across the street from where the shooting happened, "all of the sudden, there were five more gun shots that went off, bam, bam, bam."

Those shots hit four people. A woman and two men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. But, a baby girl was hit in the head and back. Police say those injuries are life-threatening. She was life-flighted from Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs to be treated.

"This girl was screaming, ‘you shot my baby, you shot my baby'" Berry says. For people in the eastside neighborhood, it was a tragedy waiting to happen. "It's kind of scary, having kids running around and gunshots going off," says Berry, whose grandchildren live with him, "it's been every night, gunshots going on or something."
