McCain's socialist accusations are so incredibly hypocritical that it makes my head hurt. He voted for the 700 billion dollar bail-out package, and he wants the government to buy up bad mortgages. Aren't both of those things leaning toward the socialist side of things, too?

The negative campaigning this year has been astonishing. The state senator from my district keeps sending out mailers that are all personal attack and no issue-related message... the ads are so nasty I'm 95% sure I'll vote for her opponent.
I've voted for her in every previous election, but I don't feel like I can trust her anymore. Weirdly, unlike most of this year's dirty-fightingest candidates, my incumbent state senator is a Democrat. The guy running against her is a third-party candidate -- the local Republican party couldn't find a good enough candidate to run, I guess.
