Amsterdam Bicycles // Current

During a 73 minute period on 9/12/06 at one corner of Nieuw Markt (a nice open square in Amsterdam), I took the following 82 pictures of bicycles. Why? Because sitting there I noticed how remarkably different the whole Amsterdam bicycle scene was from my home, and at the same time certain very clear "Amsterdam Bicycle Trends" appeared I thought might be interesting to point out. I am from the San Francisco area, California, USA.

  the beginning of april is the BEST time to go to Amsrterdam for sure. they have a holiday there called Queens Day and you should not miss it, the whole town turns into a rummage sale and PARTY!

- Now that's my kind of place. Keeping fit by riding your bike all year round ? Well I'll be Amsterdamed. Lots of good O2, and even more antioxydents to juice it up.

- Been there a few times and really liked the vibe..I am always amazed seeing the women ( there & elsewhere in Europe) all dressed up w/ heels riding a bike ..

- That's if you're in a state fit enough to even mount a bike in that city!!
  
  Still though, I love the fact that cyclists OWN the roads in Amsterdam. Pedestrians and cars take a back seat!

- Amsterdam has parking lots dedicated to...that's right. Bikes!
  
  Now if you can ever get around to making out their street signs (multiple words with multiple syllables impossible to enunciate) you're in business ;)
