Doesn't he have a "Holocaust Never Happened" Convention to attend to or something? I feel bad for the Iranian people and hope to god that the US does not get involved with another "regime change" scam over there.

The grand Iatolla is the real leader of Iran.

I'd really like to hear Russia speak up now.
In no way am I defending Ahmadinejad, but most of the time he is misquoted by way of bad translators.
While the Grand Iatolla is the real leader, Ahmadinejad is the face.
Either way I'm anticipating a fresh dialogue and some new communication.
Paraphrasing Obama, if we think not talking to a country is punishment, that's a ridiculous stance.
-
Does that mean we will have prayer rugs in the White House?
-
i don't understand why this is being looked at as negative. i see this as an invitation to rebuild our relations with iran and the middle east. how is that a bad thing?

I don't think that is going to change anything, but its a start I guess. I still think we're going to hit Iran, before the holidays... I'm sure its the last item on Cheney's Xmas list...
-
I'm so happy to see the world be so optimistic at Obama's win. I sincerely hope we can open up a dialog with world leaders and come closer to world unity.

Chavez is also looking forward to having Obama as president. I think this is a good sign. I think Obama's ideas of change reach even the ruling elites of other nations with different ideologies.
-
Peace is always the best option.
Bush never had peace on the table.
At least Obama is willing to talk.
Thank God for change!
-
Obama "the intellectual man of color''. Just watch, he will turn the world around. Thank you Mr. President
-
Look Ahmadinejad is a POLITICIAN, therefore he also SAYS and does things to get and STAY in power(so do our politicians)- Clearly the electorate in the Middle East THINKS very different then we do.
If Ahmadinejad ever attempts a HOLOCAUST then it's obvious that there's something to ACT upon-
WORDS are what they are! This is the problem with NOT reading more than THREE sentences that someone has spoken. I mean Obama said four words: "spread the wealth around" and for some people that was SOCIALISM-
To grasp what is really going on we must understand the political context that Ahmadinejad moves within- and that takes more than reading a few sentences...
Bottom line is there no HISTORICAL precedent for OPEN communication- NOT because it's BAD idea but because for many centuries it was IMPOSSIBLE- We live in a AMAZING time!
-
Hmmm...... Only time will tell what this all means.
It could signify great change - or great ruination.......

I wonder if Obama accepted the congratulations without preconditions?
-
Dang..... America has always needed someone to hate, plan to attack and kill --- now that Russia, China and Iran are too scary perhaps we should add Sweden to the "axis of evil". Then again, maybe Obama is a reasonable and sane human being and will elect to talk rather than bomb.
-
Right on.. Obama at least gives us a chance to unite the world. It going to be an interesting next four years, thats for damn sure.

Another world leader congratulates Obama...is it me, or does it seem like world peace MUST be just around the corner?
Or will the novelty wear off in a few weeks?
I call the latter...the world hasn't suddenly changed just because Obama is president-elect. Get a grip people.

It's not that the holocaust "DIDNT HAPPEN" it's what was the result of Israel taking over Palestinian land.
The question that many fail to see (maybe because of the news filter) is "Why did the Palestinians have to suffer and lose their lands and in more modern times, their actual freedom, for something they had nothing to do with (the holocaust)?"
That is the argument of the Holocaust.

I am happy if the dialogue takes place and both Iran and the Usa can face up to the horrible problems of the past. From the views and the articles Ive read Iran is a beautiful land and should be shared with the world. Russia's Siberia is beautiful land and if per chance the world can come together and learn to coexist and prosecute and place all who will destroy a chance for this world to come together and be shared by all. All human beings have a common bond and that bond is biological makeup. I am 81 years old and have traveled to many parts of the world. During those years after WWII I had hopes that the world would come together but there was too much mistrust and we sank into a period of isolation.Gorbachez opened Russia to a free economy that led to nuclear down sizing and the road to peace, but that didnt last long, Bush ambition and incompetence and the incompetent congress who did nothing to stop him brought us back to a state of confrontation. I heard much about Russian hard liners during the cold war years, but never a word about the American hard liners whom are still holding power. This is another paragraph to be added to Obama's agenda. The ppressure will be on him and I hope he keeps his promises and can excercise an intelligent agenda. I have another fear. Israel is and has been the source of blood and war for how many thousand years? Israel is not an Arab peoples and have no real business occupying Arab lands. As long as they are there there will be war and much bloodshed and any intelligent human being can see that and thousands of years of imbedded hate will not change this situation. Much blood shed and pain will follow as long as this state exists as is. So Good Luck. I will believe in the change when I see it. But so far the two party system has not produced a sane, civilized nation.
