What was cool is that everyone overwhelmingly thought the Obama/Palin ticket ROCKED!
They felt she would make a fine VP! They also want us to win the war in Iraq.
I hope Obama realizes this, or he might disappoint some of his voting base.-

I think the fact of the matter is that the majority of people don't vote on issues they just vote for the people they like.
I found it funny how they took to the Obama/Palin ticket. That sounds like a bad sit com.

Its true, religion got so badly mixed up in politcs that they think Barack is the messiah and Sarah Palin the devil...
Most of the majority had indeed voted for Barack, because he was black, there was no backing behind it, those who did, most likely paid less attention to what the media had to say..

Unless you know EVERY black person in America (like me), what all of us thought, or what we all watched or observed, you have no right to make that claim.

no, i worked pretty intensely with predominantly black neighborhoods registering people to vote. I think large numbers voted for him because he's black, especially in the poorer neighborhoods.
but let's be honest, mccain only had a shot because large numbers of white evangelicals voted for palin solely for her religion, again, in the poorer neighborhoods.
it's also true there were a lot of people not-voting for obama solely because he was black AND, more importantly, a lot of people of all colors crossing party lines based solely on the issues. racism runs both ways and sadly it's alive and well in america. happily, it is completely unacceptable in all but the worst communities.

Its definitely cause hes black hands down.

How many white people voted for John McCain just because he's white? How is one worse or better than the other? How many black people would have voted for John McCain if the democratic nominee had been white?
I'm happy that so many people voted, it's great!

To: yuniversal3 (sorry the reply isn't doing so hot)
He promised to give money to the Black people to finish the Civil rights movement, by taking the money from the rich. We'll see how that goes.
So far he's announced some ideas that cost the taxpayers $$$$$$, just to look good, when some of the actions made no sense.-

From my experience with white people, I have found that the non-political, that don't care about the issues, don't vote at all or vote for who ever they "like" best, and Obama tested the same as McCain among white voters.
There is also a population of White voters that researches issues, and I again believe that Obama tested equally among that group as well.
