Faith is a silly to have. The voice in your head is your own. Not God's. Deal with it, and stop spreading hate.

Soleil, what makes you think that you and other Christians have the right to dictate to the rest of us?

I was just responding to a comment form Maxamust asking if God was married ?
I am not dictating anything to you. It is a free country.
No one is hijacking a specific faith, redefining it and forcing it on you.

Was God married? No.
Wait, isn't that who you get your definition of marriage from?Keith was spot on.

God is male and female. He is our parent (father and mother).
In Genesis Christians believe, He gave 3 blessings:
1) Become fruitful (mature)
2) Multiply
3) Dominate the eathThe institution of marriage is the center of the family, clan, tribe, nation and world

Soleil,
I'm not christian, so why don't you keep your beliefs to yourself. What you're suggesting doesn't imply to a lot of people. There's a wide range of human beliefs. What if a heterosexual person can not conceive or have children, does this mean that he/she has no purpose in life? I seriously don't believe Jesus message to humanity is to multiply and dominate. Maybe you should dominate your backyard! - 1 year ago

That is not what I wrote.
People who are married and have raised children may know a little more about marriage than an elitist liberal who has done neither.
I do not know what happened in his life and it is not for me to judge but his sermon on marriage was very poor
-He still confuses the issue of racism with gay marriage after 70% of African americans voted for prop 8.
-He still tries to put the guilt of shame and hate indirectly on religious people or anyone else that voted for prop 8. Do onto you....bla...bla
30 states have now voted in this way.
Keith Olberman needs to think out of the leftist/liberal box and ask himself some real questions.

soleil10:
"Elitist liberal"
That's funny. But I guess you're right, I mean conservatives have a long extensive record of inclusion and tolerance. They don't act the slightest in elitist or entitled way.
And really...
"People who are married and have raised children may know a little more about marriage "
That's like saying someone who has been president knows more about being president. Does that mean that only people who have been president should be able to run? Are should we give other people have a shot at it?
I think you're confusing gay marriage with the basic human rights of our "free country." - 1 year ago

Elitist is not an exclusivity to liberals, someone can be elitist and conservative. No argument there.
Yes every one can have a shot to the presidency but someone who has not been president yet would be wise not to give a sermon on how to be president until his or her term is over
Anyone can get married. That is not the issue until someone wants to redefine the institution of marriage for everyone else and think they are entitled to special rights by making the false claim of discrimination .

Let's clear one thing up, it wasn't a "sermon," we're not in church.
So if everyone has a shoot at the presidency, why shouldn't everyone have a shot at marriage? Especially if the two people love each other and are willing to make such a large commitment?
"Anyone can get married"
I think you're confused. NO, they can't that's what the issue is here. In the "Land of the free," not everyone can get married.
"redefine the institution of marriage for everyone else"
That's hilarious. Please explain how does allowing someone else to get married has any affect on your marriage or ability to marry? - 1 year ago

When someone is preaching to you mentioning religion and quoting spiritual quotes. That is a sermon too

30 States voted that way?
-A lot of those states are the same states that seceded from the union and started the most racist war this country has ever fought.
-A lot of those states are the same states that fought against freedom for African Americans in the 20th century. We are all created equal. We deserve equal rights.
Oh, and the argument that gay couples are bad parents? That is total Bull Shit. I live in one of the most diverse communities in the United States, D.C., and know literally dozens of homosexual couples that would be perfect parents. PROVEN because they made a HUGE positive impact on me growing up, and I'm straight. One family in particular is probably the reason I don't drink or do drugs.
