These kids will be maybe 10 when grandma/mommy dies. That is a great thing to do to them. The middle baby looks cyanotic, blue not breathing well. The one on the right is tiny probably will have tons of medical problems. I wish them well, they will need it. The woman is 56. I'm sorry but that is way to late to have kids. One can only hope the father gets his act together and helps in every way with the kids and that both parents live long enough to nurture them well.

From the full article for those of you that may not read it, the parents were waiting to adopt, but adoption is a long, painful and expensive process. The grandmother is the suragate mother for her daughter meaning her daughters eggs were used and her son-in-laws sperm; they just used her uterus. Grandma was cleared medically but as is so ofter with in vitro procedures, mutiple eggs survived and caused the early intervention birth of the 3.

It is wonderful that medicine now gives parents this option and they are fortunate to have the ability to do it.

This was an odd situation, but I think the family came up with an interesting solution. I dont have any problem with it.

So some of you are against this, some think it was resourceful. I happen to think it was a blessing for this woman to be able to ask this of her mother ( 9 months of pregnancy at her age cannot be easy). And she must be a pretty healthy 56 year old to have been able to carry triplets of all things. To say that she will die at 66? My grandparents are alive and well, driving, dating, at the ages of 72, 73, 82, & 81... I think to say she may die when the triplets are 20 and she's 76 is a much better assumption (hopefully even later) and 20 is an age where they will be old enough to cope with it.
