My english teacher is in love with having us write 4 million critical reviews that have to do with Al Gore and President Obama. Now I have to write an essay on Peter Landesman's theory of how incorrect global warming is.
I knew this had to be wrong. So of coarse i gotta come to vanguard to find the right answer :)keep revealing whats real guys!! :D

This documentary was truly insightful, and did an excellent job in causing me to become avidly interested in global warming. For years was I complacent concerning the issue because there was always something that seemed more pressing occuring in the world, however this documentary is moving, surprisingly poetic, and has definitely kept me interested in global warming.

Really great story. Recommend also Jared Diamond's book "Collapse - how societies choose to fail and succeed" - for more on the environmental and sociological reasons of the original Viking failure in Greenland.

Yep. I recall a documentary from a while back saying that our free market economic system requires population growth to succeed. Not sure about that, but if true really puts things into a no win situation.

Did any one notice that the main reason for the melting was obviously right under they're noses, and that is over-population. But due to the all mighty dollar er're being slow to combat our cause......

Astounding that there is not much media coverage of the oil and gas companies interest there. Thanks for covering that.
Now it appears Greenland is the source of two negative feedback loops regarding global warming.
One being the receding ice reflecting less heat from the surface causing the melt to accelerate.
The other is that burning fossil fuels has caused global warming that has uncovered more fossil fuels in Greenland to be extracted and sold for use.
I think this is alarming as having more oil available will help keep oil cost lower and delay transition to renewable energy.
The energy companies will exploit this and our planet to the max, as they can't see that making profit and economics are moot points if the planet goes into the radical climate changes that can be caused by the temperature getting high enough to disrupt the ocean's stabilizing currents. - 9 months ago

I saw this just today 5-2-09, on current tv, very interesting, very well done. To me it is life, stuff happens, life moves on, I personally believe things like this is what spread mankind all over the planet. See the part where the Vikings used to grow stuff there, when it was green before, then got cold, this to me, proves that climate change can be mostly a natural change of the planet. People are wanting to mold the world to their wants, you have to adapt or perish. We've taken natural selection out of so much of humankind. Sure if we can make autos have cleaner emissions, if we can make a few changes to save natural resources, if we can save fresh water, it would be stupid not to. But to totally rework world economies on the chance that it "might" make a difference? Not for me. How is it that they find fossils of wolly mammoths in modern day Pheonix, a desert climate today, you can't think it was always this way.
But a great video well made.

i watched this episode on a Virgin flight and thought it was just terrific. my first current tv viewing. coming from an american city perspective, i sometimes struggle to fully understand and accept the lifestyles in other countries- the part with the sled dogs really reminded me of that. i have a husky whose mom was a sled dog and i can't imagine anything but providing him the best of a life as he deserves. life is brutal and sometimes it feels we are a little shielded from the reality in other countries.
adam- you're an awesome reporter with a wonderful face for the camera. i'll be watching out for your work!

This was an excellent program. Pretty gutsy of you to do a story that looks at the positive implications of global warming. That's not something easy to do right now. But this one really makes you think about what our f'd up priorities are when we celebrate the further exploitation of the world's natural resources. Great, ballsy journalism!!

Hi from Greenland!
Excellent show you´ve put together. We up here can recognize the world we live in up here. Nov.25. we´ll have the referendum about one step further towards some kind of independence. We all expect a YES but nothing is sure.
To us it´s refreshing to have people like you up here. And I hope that all the viewers understand the +/- about the global warming up here?
There is for sure no "celebration" here - we love our ice and snow and the traditions and ways of living connected with it. But on the other hand the 56.000 people up here are used to adapt to the nature. So global warming gives new challenges and possibilities that we have to learn to live with.
Do you know Björk "Declare independence". That´s written to Greenland. Exciting what the referendum Tuesday ends with. Best wishes Karsten Sommer, Nuuk, Greenland - 1 year ago

This is the amazing video to Bjork's song, 'Declare Independence,' which she wroke for her comrades of Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
In many ways, the Faroes and Greenland look up to Iceland for declaring independence from Denmark in the '40s. It's an inspiration that has undoubtedly helped to motivate the November 25th vote Karsten just mentioned.

Spectacular report! It's funny that these benefits are sort of positive externalities of global warming for Greenlanders. I think the filmmaker's take on it was most accurate when he said that it was like it was the Wild West for them to conquer. It really is new and uncharted lands opening up to them for the first time.

A sadness within a celebration of sorts.
"That's great but, for how long?", is the question I couldn't shake off during the entire mega-pod.
Tourists coming to see the slow end of the glaciers was a haunting reminder of what cannot be reversed.
Well done to all who had a hand in this piece.

What an interesting and opposite perspective on something that has been so negatively viewed. I still feel that Global Warming needs to be further addressed and it needs to gain even more awareness. But this illustrates that there is good in negative things. I really like the show, it has moved to my top 2 favorites!

This segment on Greenland and the impact of climate change due to global warming is an eye opener to many I am sure. This is so real and we must fight to slow the process down in as many ways as possible. I have friends in Sweden who have shared the impact of climate change in their country.
In my job I instruct employees how to enhance their driving habits, conserve fuel, and reduce emissions. Eco Driving, behavior changes behind the wheel that can make a difference, also raising the awareness of global warming not only for our life time but for the generations to follow. You can make a difference! Great episode Adam! - 1 year ago
