The End Of America: Movie

I met and spoke with Josh Wolf at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He was there with the Prometheus Radio project giving a presentation hosted by Democracy Matters.

It's ridiculous what happened to him. He strikes me as being kind of a snotty punk anarchist kid-- which he is. But he's still right about what he has to say on the matters of his being detained for journalism. His case was a landmark decision for 1st amendment rights.

The checks and balances have been eroded away to there last thread and the bush administration is continuing to work feverishly on passing amendments that cover the acts done during their administrative time in power and they are trying to do so before the end of their term. I think it is important to keep in mind that a president can be impeached even after his period in office and while most people see efforts to do so as a waste (being that he is no longer in a position to make decisions, so why worry) the truth of the matter is that it is necessary to set a precedent that it is not ok to overtly abuse the power of the presidency as well as restraining the reallocation of power the bush administration has delegated to other areas that now lie outside of governmental oversight.

The time is coming for ALL citizens to make a choice...

Here's the Naomi Wolf interview I referred to. Also one of her best sellers was The Beauty Myth. Looks like she might be a Hypocrite as well as a Wacko, Best Selling Author, Feminist, Rhodes Scholar, as well as a born and breed San Franciscan. She's been a busy little Lib. Wolf insists, however, that female accounts of adolescent sexuality have been systematically suppressed. She adduces cross-cultural material to demonstrate that women have, across history, been celebrated as more carnal than men. Wolf argues that women must reclaim the legitimacy of their own sexuality by shattering the polarization of women between virgin and whore.[20]

Promiscuities received, in general, negative reviews. The New York Times published a stinging review that characterized Wolf as a "frustratingly inept messenger: a sloppy thinker and incompetent writer. She tries in vain to pass off tired observations as radical apercus, subjective musings as generational truths, sappy suggestions as useful ideas."[21] Two days earlier, however, a different Times reviewer praised the book, writing, "Anyone--particularly anyone who, like Ms. Wolf, was born in the 1960s--will have a very hard time putting down 'Promiscuities.' Told through a series of confessions, her book is a searing and thoroughly fascinating exploration of the complex wildlife of female sexuality and desire."[22] In contrast, The Library Journal excoriated the work, writing, "Over generalization abounds as she attempts to apply the microcosmic events of this mostly white, middle-class, liberal milieu to a whole generation....There is a desperate defensiveness in the tone of this book which diminishes the force of her argument." Everyone has a learning curve. If you want to criticize her previous work, go do that someplace else. If you want to criticize her appearance, do that on your own time. If you would like to contribute to intelligent conversation, why don't you actually watch the movie, check the facts, and THEN comment. Sheesh!

That movie is so paranoid/schizo ~ we are not losing America w/ Bush ... Does anyone remember we were attacked on American soil in 2001 . But it hasnt happened again, has it? We are in more trouble and more vulnerable to being attacked again when Obama comes into office and with the people that are pulling the puppet's (O) strings . And what change is there w/ Obama ... just more of the crooked Clinton politics w/ the Clinton people he's putting in place in his administration. And what did Clinton do? Weakened our country's military enough to be attacked in 2001 after he got out of office. Then he weakened us financially in the home market such that we are now suffering the current recession/depression. We were in a recession when he left office. Gas prices were going up.

With us having such a liberal democratic majority congress now... yes we need to worry about America ... but it's not because of Bush. Socialism is something to worry about and socialism is on the liberal agenda.
