This is how I felt after Obama won the election. Alive in a whole new way. I just want to put it down for my future generations so when my grandkids ask, "Gramma, what did it feel like when Obama won?" I can say..."Like this, baby, like this."

Love the poem! I am a 44 yr old white lesbian and I am so proud to say that YES WE DID! I stood in my livingroom and cried on November 4, 2008 when they announced that he had won the election. Everytime I hear his acceptance speech at the DNC convention when he said "I accept your nomination." I cry. Everytime I see the footage of Obama and his family coming out on stage in Grant (?) park, I cry. I am so happy to have seen this day, and I am so excited about the days to come. I am so happy for our nation.
