An air stewardess was forced to land a jet carrying 146 passengers after the co-pilot had a mental breakdown over the Atlantic.The Air Canada 767 - en route from Toronto to Heathrow - had to make an emergency diversion to Shannon Airport, Ireland, after the co-pilot started yelling for God. He has now been flown back to his home in Canada for treatment.
The heroic stewardess, who has a commercial pilot's licence - came forward after the disturbed flight officer was forcibly removed from the cockpit controls.
She took over in his seat and helped to bring the packed plane down.
