I am not in any romantic relationship, so I'm not sure
how to squarely answer this question...As far as other types of relationships go, I find that plenty of people "need me" more than I need them.
For instance, there is this one cat - we grew up
together; since 9th grade. I've long-since outgrown him... We're grown men, but he still farts at the table, brags about things, tries to control and corrale people, etc. I just turned 41 last week. Do I need that kind of immaturity in my life? Hell-to-tha-no! BUT - In spite
of the fact that I don't return his calls, he's been
calling me for the past three years. Many others,
like this cat, treat me like S___, then turn and call it friendship, love, etc.People approach me first...
I've had people actually get mad at me for being sick, thus unavailable. Not "What can I do to help you...?"
but, "WHAT?! How dare you... When will you be well again?"The thing is - I'm no one special. Just a skinny,
hard-working, horny cat... Whatever...
