Here is a list of mosquito tones that you can test your hearing by... I can hear all the way up to 18 Khz.

... a "mosquito tone" is simply a 17KHz sine wave that geeky youngsters have been known to use on their cell phone to alert them when they've got a text message so the teachers can't hear it. See, studies say that most of us old folks (I'm over 30 now) can't hear much above the 13-14KHz range.

I'm 28 years old and I can hear 17 just fine. I can hear 18, but it's very faint and almost disappears if I tilt my head at different angles.

Interesting, especially for someone who had ear infections and tubes as a youngster. They told me I had hearing damage, but I swear that I have better hearing than most people now that I'm older.

Another interesting thing is that the few years I went raving and often found myself in front of a throbbing wall of speakers, I don't think it damaged my hearing at all!

Lame. i'm 18 and could only hear up to 16KHz clearly 18 had no sound. Must've been the ipod blasting in my ears that ruined hearing.

Could only hear up to 15KHz with no headphones on. With headphones on I could hear all over them except for 16KHz.
I wouldn't be able to hear 16KHz and up unless I was doing this

Now you guys are going to say that I am hearing too much. I got all of it up to 18KHz. They are very distinct high pitched sounds excepted by the 18KHz where it starts to fade off to a low frequency. Looks like the students will not be able to pull this trick on me.

I can hear 18 just fine too. To me, there's only a slight difference between 11 and 18. but i'm only 17 years old, so i guess it's supposed to be that way for me?

i didnt think id be able to hear them all, ive played in loud deathmetal bands for years. I hear noises like that every once in a while but i cant figure out what it is. Also, in the article it says something about no one being able to lick their elbow...i know someone who can do it.

I can hear all of them, but I'm 17. I was a little worried after that of Montreal concert I went to a couple weeks ago, my ears were ringing for several days.
