We're happy to announce that L'Oréal has selected three VCAM entries for their "Can I Help You" assignment to air on Current.

Congratulations to the producers of the following VCAMs:

1. Can I Help You (Doodybrains): http://current.com/items/89240812/can_i_help_you.htm

2. Can I Help You (Dreferr, felliperibeiro): http://current.com/items/89277081/can_i_help_you_l_or_al_commercial.htm

3. L'Oreal Head to Toe (tshumskas): http://current.com/items/89261640/l_oreal_head_to_toe_can_i_help_you_on_air_vcam...

If your VCAM didn’t get selected this time, don’t be discouraged. There were a lot of great submissions to choose from, and you all displayed a great amount of talent that will serve you well on future projects.

If you have any questions, or would like to request constructive feedback on your VCAM submission, please post them below or email me at vcamoutreach@current.com, and I’ll be sure to answer them as soon as I can.

We just wrapped up our final VCAM assignment for the year (for Nikon), but will have some exciting new ones coming down the line in the first quarter of 2009.

If you’re not already on our VCAM newsletter email list, you can sign up here: http://tinyurl.com/VCAMnewsletter. We send out the newsletter once or twice a month to let you know about upcoming assignments, VCAM selections, feedback workshops, special projects, etc.

Thanks everyone,

Will

What happened with the online ads?

Wow it took TEN weeks to pick winners. What was the problem?

Also regarding one of the winners:
I bet it's not OK to rip the video of Collier Strong and the models from the L'Oreal website and use it in a VCAM. They have to be paid for additional uses of the video right?

Congratulations to the winner! I think they hit the right string. But I've got a question close to Kpaso one. The winner VCAM has all the elements I was asked to take off my VCAM by Current's staff (Collier Strong image, models, etc.). How comes? I hope you can give an answer. Thanks!

    Hey everyone,

First off, let me say thanks to each of you that spent the time and effort to create a VCAM for L’Oreal. The VCAM program could not exist without your effort and dedication. We want to be as helpful and transparent as we can, responding to feedback and answering questions. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at any time by sending an email to vcam@current.com (we will absolutely get back to you).

We would like acknowledge your frustration and apologize for some of the challenges related to the L’Oreal VCAM assignment.

First of all, thank you all for your patience in awaiting the results from the client on this assignment. We're working to ensure a faster turnaround on results moving forward; for our recent HP and Nikon callouts, we were able to announce the selections much faster (for Nikon, less than 3 weeks), and hope to keep this improving moving forward.

In terms of the Flash Ad component, while recognizing the effort that producers invested to create these ads, L’Oreal elected to not select any of them. Our sincere condolences go to those producers.

We also recognize that one of the selected VCAMs included material from the L’Oreal website (authorized by L'Oreal, but not included in the downloadable assets). In the future we hope to better communicate the expectations and restrictions set by the sponsor up front, so that everyone can create the best ad possible. If Current staff were lacking in this area for you for this assignment, we're very sorry.

On a more positive note, we'd be happy to provide personal feedback on any VCAMs you created for this assignment, and look forward to working together on future assignments in 2009. We have some great stuff coming up, and really hope that you’ll stay involved. (To stay up to date, sign up for the newsletter at http://tinyurl.com/VCAM newsletter.)

    Best,
    Will and Danny (username: dgreene)
