The Justice Department has given approval to former attorney general, Alberto Gonzales, to obtain private legal counsel to defend him on charges of hiring discrimination, as well as in the recent indictment, in southern Texas, for precluding an investigation into Vice President Dick Cheney's alleged prisoner neglect, and abuse. Taxpayers will pick up the tab to the tune of twice as much, per hour, than department lawyers can bill.
How's that for adding insult to injury?
