Food security explained simply.
-
Food security is very important to all of us and should be a top concern. Along with everything else that has it's problems, I would like to see more families produce their own fruits and veggies. I know we tried a garden this year, but did not do very well with it, so we will try again next year.
-
Reminds me of when Americans were asked to contribute to the common good by planting their own gardens.
-
I am going to try to plant a garden this year too. I certainly have enough room. Regarding Scarabus' statement...I think it would be a good idea to do once again!
-
Grow your own. It's so easy!

Wake up! That is good.

You want to know the truth about food security. It is simple, the richer the nation the more power it leverages to import its direct requirements.
Now my point is this, rice is becoming an expensive commodity. Not for us, for the countries that produce the product, they know they are able to sell the product for more than three times its local value as an export. Who goes hungry, not me or you but the poor impoverished country that is slaving to produce rice at a value that is obscene. Now do you see how the system works to benefit our consumption?

Very true but something is messing up the food chain of seafood over there. The Blue Tuna is now rare and was before very abundant. Research needs to be done to find the cause of what happened.

Creative and insightful. Wonderful post!
-
Cool video, but I don't like that they seem to be saying people should eat even more seafood. The Japanese eat a disproportionate amount of the worlds seafood already.
-
You're right it's a very good video! Well worth a watch!

good video very simple.
we are populating too fast and taking from the earth not giving back at a very speedy rate.morals are different, the idea of supermarkets we want and we want it now no matter.
governments should make shops only supply what is in season. or what we can grow in polytunnels etc. self sufficient.
plus maybe a big world war to cull our numbers start from scratch. power struggles have been happenin since man has wanted to controll others which is a long time, we are creatures of habit so it shouldnt be too long esp if opressive countries like china become new world powers..
the near future should be quite entertaining
