nice story too bad Tamkanat Naveed is a liar. she does not cover and she does not dress islamicaly unless she needs to go to to places where people thinks she does. All in all she is a hypocrite and I think she should be removed from your website because it is not fair to all the girls that do dress in the appropriate manner. she does not represent us.

its interesting because I know where Tam Naveed works now! Oh by the way everyone Tam thinks she looks like Angelina Jolie. And its surprising that a person who has been wearing the same damn boots for ten years and got in trouble for trying to pass a Tibetan hat off as proper Islamic head wear is writing for a fashion magazine. Seriously? Now Tahmina knew how to dress, you all should get some advice from her.....she was breathtakingly beautiful everyday. She made outfits out western wear that where simple, sophisticated, smart and ideal.

thanks for posting this, it's a very REAL and positive alternative to the magazines out there that promote an ideology of ignorance and sexism. kudos to the magazine for giving girls a voice for empowerment.

These girls didn't seem like the average every day girl off the street. I am glad that they have "role models" but they also need just every day people like themselves if the magazine is to promote a true positive self image.

I did like some of the style shoots. I liked it because they showed how they can be creative, yet obey the laws of dress that they must. Now that is something that a magazine should have it it.

Today's girl needs a variety of "looks" and style. Generations before may have been fine with a general "blobular" look, but I think now they want more individuality, not to be sexy symbols but to be themselves.

First of all this magazine is not for you to jack off to or something...its for teen age girls. I hope youre not going around reading Seventeen magazine or anything like that because then you are more disturbed than I thought.

Secondly just because something doesnt fit your archaic western definition of beauty doesnt mean its not beautiful or interesting. Open up your eyes, your heart and your mind...theres a big world out there beyond your little bubble.

yeah, let's just irrevocably westernize every fucking thing imaginable and call it diversity.

I think it is terrific that they are breaking down stereotypes and helping people understand the culture. However, I still think that the core issue is not in the US or Canada but the countries outside the US that subjugate women and force them to be second class citizens. This is where the stereotypes are perpetuated.
