This story is important because it gives a basic summary of the root cause of our economic problems and where were headed, and it isn't looking good for us. If more people understand this and learn about it we have a better chance of lessening the severe blow America is about to take on the chin.
We must end the Federal Reserve system. Here is a very well done video documentary of what started all these problems:

It is crucial that we understand the role of the Federal Reserve System in our current economic crisis: The artificially-low interest rates which led to the malinvestment, the boom/bust business cycle, the controlled inflation, then deflation, all at the behest of a private group of international bankers which make up the shareholders of our American Federal Reserve System.
The explicit power to coin and print money, and to regulate the value thereof was granted to our Congress by the Constitution. They had no power to legislate that authority to a private, secretive group of bankers. The inherent danger in this system is so obvious that Thomas Jefferson wrote about it more than 200 years ago -- sending out a warning to future generations:
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies."
"I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our constitution - taking from the federal government their power of borrowing."
We will have to cut this cancer from our nation while we still have enough power.
