that is receiving S.S.Checks. It also is the same with state assistance, IE: welfare, food stamps, school funded
money for breakfast & lunch. Something is not right when such a large %% of the county gets some kind of state or goverment hand-out! Some will scream racist automaticaly, GO AHEAD, I DO NOT GIVE A DAMN! The truth is the truth! Much of the History taught in our public schools today is WRONG! It is Revisionist History Or as i call it ,Feel Good History, That is wrong. This county should be penalized by the Federal Govt, The amount of money it waste on this udderely stupid Holiday, As i have said this is a direct slap in the face to the Americans who are know honored with these rare paid Holidays, One of them being Martin Luther King. Obama, has done NOTHING to deserve this, Every member of the board who voted yes on this should be looked out closley, They do not understand the use of power, That is easy to see, The peoples money is certainly not safe with these idiots.

Barack really hasn't done anything yet, he only promised things that were probably a bit too overwheming, and people over exaggerated what Barack was actually doing, therefore, creating things like Messiah and he is AUTOMATICALLY going to save us at the very point he takes office...

I think George Bush day should be September 11th since he ignored 52 warnings and let it happen. A special hanging day for treason, and every September 11th after we hang another treasonist repugnant.

OK, look at other holidays. The only two holidays we have honoring indidvidual people are MLK day (never was elected to anything, made no history making discoveries, etc..) and Colombus day, a guy who thought he was going to India and ran into the Bahamas. What about Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Franklin, Clinton? (I threw Clinton in their to rattle some cages.)

Good to see that county commission tackling real issues and doing the work they were elected to do...

I can list ten Presidents that have been better, speak better, talk better, are smarter, and done more for America than Obama has...possibly will....and they don't have a day to themselves.

I fail to see how Obama's ascendancy to the President-elect position (he isn't president yet) is any different than any previous US President. Granted most are rich boys who are groomed to be president and Obama wasn't as rich, but he was groomed.

Since gaining the Senate in Illinois he has gained in wealth incredibly. Senators usually don't get paid very well, but somehow he was able to purchase a $2 million plus home in upscale Chicago. Rags to riches, you know, but what I would like to know who's riches are we talking about? Someone bankrolled this man.

To be able to campaign for 23 months and saturate the media like none before and never get into financial trouble speaks volumes. On AOL, almost every page had his smiling face. I was beginning to feel like an Iraqi with Saddam's pictures and statues on every horizontal and vertical surface.

Some say he is a master at fund raising. You can bet he is. Someone raised a bunch of funds and someone is bankrolling this guy, but I said that once before. Wonder who it is? I Said that before, too.

Also, to have enough clout for the Director of Health in Hawaii to go into a vault, come out empty handed and proclaim his birth certificate is valid. No copy, no picture, nothing and we are supposed to believe him. Now that is clout.

Well, here's the beautiful thing about a real democracy.
I applaud them. Besides, even if Obama turns out to be a terrible president - and I don't think he will - his ascendancy to the presidency is still something to celebrate. America is finally realizing her Ideals!

FYI... This is either the poorest county in Alabama or is in the top 3, It is almost totally black..Therein lies the PAID Holiday. The poorest county in the State giving a paid Holiday along with Veterans Day, & ALL National Holidays, Talk about stupidity, It is no wonder the ignorant asses are broke, This shows their intelligence
in spending the county taxpayers dollar!!! Obama is not even President yet! How Damn stupid can the County board be. For the record, One white member on the board voted NO for Barrack Hussein Obama Day.......(I cannot beleive i just typed that in, UN-BELEIVIABLE) This is not Racist, It is plain common-sense. Yeah, the buying of the Presidency is a monumental occasion. Not to dishonor MR. Obama, but he hasn't done anything yet and he already is getting honored. He is president-elect people, the Electoral College hasn't even voted.

He could turn out to be the worse president in 100 years. I think this town is a bit premature in their honoring the man.

Thank God Bush has kept us from any more attacks! I propose George W Bush day every Sept. 12th

We could have called it "Thank God Bush will be out of office on Jan 20th Day", but Barack Obama Day has a much nicer ring to it.

We should make Obama Day a national holiday. Holidays are fun.

But he hasn't even been sworn in yet!

Oh yes this is what we need. Another useless paid holiday. Gime a break. Oh yeah he hasn't done anything yet!!!!
