Obama, who ignored Fox News five consecutive times at previous press conferences, answered a question from the network's Wendell Goler.
Goler asked Obama if he was fearful over the prospect of Treasury Sec. Paulson allocating all TARP bailout funds before he takes office. "And if I may also ask the Governor: What happened to the beard, sir?"

"Maybe Fox news has decided to change?"
I saw a UFO but I don't think it was a flying pig.

ROFL!
lenhart, I know your right, they will be nice then back to old stuff. -
Maybe Fox News likes "Change"...I doubt it, they will always be one sided and more of a magazine style instead of real news. Nice to see he gave them a chance.

Wow, what a revelation. I'm so glad we can rely on Fox News to probe the depths of our political landscape. I don't know what I would do with myself without the answer to that burning question. I know everyone in america is hanging by a thred wondering.... Bepuzzled.....baffled. Now we know. Thanks to Fox News reporter, Goler, for asking
"And if I may also ask the Governor: What happened to the beard, sir?"
Rest easy America. Fox is on it.

Maybe Obama actually has a sense of humor instead of taking himself so seriously.
Ignoring a news station out of spite is childish.
-
Was that reporter wearing a rainbow tie? Interesting.....never really ever seen one of those.
-
I'm glad Fox News didn't waste their chance to ask a meaningful question.

Pretty weak jokes on obama's part... but good answer afterwords.
-
Any chance to dis Fox News? If CNN or MSNBC had said it more likely it'd be seen as "funny" or even "cute"? No, of course not, that's a double standard. Single questions are certainly evident signs of a network's pitifullness.

Obama calling on FOX News was a brilliant stroke.
Their reporter was, quite obviously, caught off guard.
There's rumours floating around that CEO, Rupert Murdock, has been having second thoughts about FOX News operations due to recent ratings slippage since the election and, according to a few solid sources, a growing dislike for minds like Bill O'Reilly's.
If necessary, as a competitive businessman, He'll retool FOX News to make certain it remains a money maker.
Murdock purchased the Wall Street Journal without changing it's editorial policies and has his eyes on The New York Times. This would suggest that he's looking at his legacy and reconsidering what it will be.
I'm betting that there will be significant changes made at FOX News over the coming months, shifting politics playing a dominant role. -
If thats true this is the best news possible and I can go find something more productive to do today than sitting in my PJ's talking crap about Fox Networks. Call your cable provider and ask them to not bundle Fox with your service. Your paying after all and why should fund go to Fox or Al-Jazera for that matter.

Wow it's going to be nice having a real human being in the White House who's not afraid to have press conferences, instead of a quivering, bumbling, blustery sock puppet.
As for Fox, they may or may not have fully received the message they need to start behaving like a news station, but I suspect they will. Now that they will no longer be the mouthpiece for the president, they might be realizing if they want a piece of the news action, they need to start behaving like a news station and not a propaganda machine.
-
Good move on his part. Considering the way they cover him now, think how much worse it would be if he refuses to acknowledge them.
-
Leave it to Fox to ask the hard-hitting BEARD question... Now THAT'S reporting.
-
FOX News = Fueled on Xenophobia
Aren't they precious??? -
Fox news will never change, they are making too much money to swing to the left.

I want him to pause and think instead of saying 'uh'. I really do. I so enjoy him when he gives his speeches....but when he just answers questions it turns into a drunk word circus with UH being center stage.
-
Oh look they even got a black dude to ask the question! So maybe they can now say that's the only reason he took it...just to hedge their bets.
-
Maybe because he is a black reporter? Pathetic.
