Iran arrests 49 citizens for wearing 'satanic' clothes

Image...
Police in Iran have arrested 49 people this week in a crackdown on 'satanic' Western-style clothes and haircuts.

It is part of a nation-wide campaign to stop the spread of Western cultural influence in the Islamic republic, where strict dress codes are enforced.

'Police confronted rascals and thugs who appeared in public wearing satanic fashions and unsuitable clothing,' said Qaemshahr city police commander Mahmoud Rahmani.

He added that five barber shops were shut and 20 more warned for 'promoting Western hairstyles'.

Yeah, because there's nothing satanic about forcing women to wear black robes covering their whole body except for the eyes. Stoning people to death in soccer stadiums with audience participation and constantly saying "Death To America"...

i dont know this is a tricky one i mean i believe that people should have the freedom to choice but even in a country like the uk whats suppose to be free and full of freedom you wil get certain people that will tell you what they think is acceptable and what isnt, obviously its about morals but the real diffrence is that they run there country on it more so than ours question is, have we got the right to say to them how to run thier country and whos to say whos right

    Beck said it best:

Something's wrong 'cause my mind is fading
    Ghetto-blastin' disintegrating
Rock 'n' roll, know what I'm sayin'
And everywhere I look there's a devil waiting

    Got a devil's haircut

I like the Beck lyrics, very appropriate! I'll let song speak for me as well:
"can't fight against the youth right now them are rude rude people
can't fight against the resistance whoa right now them are rude rude people
we cannot rule this land, among children we cannot rule this land "

Good luck keeping the kids down, Iran!

ok this is the second weirdest thing ive heard today.

i thought Iran was one of the most liberal Islamic countries!!!!

half of the women there dont even wear head scarfs. thats just weird to me.

if you keep people repressed for too long they'll end up flipping a bitch on ya!!!

    watch out.

I think it important to note that there are many fundamentalist Christians in this country who have similar attitudes about female modesty, contemporary clothing and hair styles. Religion is a dangerous thing.

We shouldn't be surprised that Iran has to "crack down" on their people. Islam is more than just a religion. It states, in detail, how the affairs of man are to be governed. EVERYTHING; not excluding your haircut and dress. They're trying to make their Islamic State an Islamic state. By the book.

Anti-American feelings are still high there too; but that has nothing to do with Bush - he just made it worse with Iraq. This started when Carter was Pres.

If you recall, before Iran had their Islamic state they had their Shaw; and he was our buddy. He did a lot of good things for the people of Iran. He also did a lot of bad things TO them. His secret police (Savaak?), killed, maimed & tortured at govt. order.

So the people revolted, took our embassy personnel hostage and kicked the US the hell out while the Shaw fled. We are, in truth, the bad guys to those folks.

If the Iranian people have no objection to being told how to cut their hair, or what not to wear, I guess it's OK with me. But then, I was born in America.

They dont hate us because of Israel. They dont hate us because of Kashmir. They dont hate us because we have troops in Saudi Arabia or because we deposed Saddam Hussein. They dont hate us because of Britney Spears. They hate us because we are infidels, and because we dont plan on surrendering or providing them material aid in their war of aggressive expansion.

Hmm I thought that the devil wore prada. oh well i guess only the Iranians are fit to know what he wears.

Iran is teetering on a collapse economically as well as socially. They will now take drastic measures to keep their intolerance of any other outside thinking . The people of Iran want freedom, but under their rule it will never happen.
