Former football star 'got what he deserved' a decade after murder trial

Goldman family ‘thrilled’ with O.J. sentence
The Manson deaths: The report from Dec. 2, 1969
O.J. Simpson sentenced to long prison term
updated 7:12 p.m. CT, Fri., Dec. 5, 2008
LOS ANGELES - In the city where O.J. Simpson walked free in one of the most celebrated murder trials of the last century, people said that justice — delayed for more than a decade — was finally served.
Simpson's acquittal in October 1995 in the double murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, remains fresh in the minds of those who remember the "Trial of the Century."
Contempt for the former NFL star was apparent among those interviewed Friday, although most weren't glued to their televisions or radios like they were when the verdict was read in Simpson's criminal murder trial.
It fills my heart with hope when justice prevails.

Sorry guys i have to kinda play "devils advocate" and say that if it werent for the case of "murder" 13yrs ago then i dont think he wouldve gotten such sentence. there is noone anywhere that can say that they have not heard of the case and dont already have a opinion of oj whether they thought of him guilty or not, especially with the Goldmans always around refusing to let anyone "forget". and we must not forget about the children that this will always affect. they will always be ojs children and he their father. just think of all of that love our fathers and to think that our father was accused of these things. Just pray for the children that have kinda been fogotten.

There are three people who know whether or not OJ did the murders, and two of them cannot speak for themselves. In my mind I believe he is guilty of killing Nicole and Ron. I think the L.A. police botched the investigation and that American Justice showed that theatrics and deflection are effective ploys in trial cases.
I also agree with the person in the article who mentioned something about karma. In my mind, OJ and his Dream Team drug everyone's conception of justice through the mud.
As to his children, the above poster is correct, and they deserve all the compassion in the world being innocent victims. I wish them nothing but peace and recovery -
I agree with momof3boyz and also state that I reckon if it were not for the previous case the punishment would not have been so severe. Sure the Goldman's are overjoyed because they have been out for vengeance for a decade. That said, now that he is on his way to prison, I hope that we do not have to hear from them once his sentence becomes old news in a week.

Pretty still sentence if you ask me. Yeah he is a dumbass, maybe a murderer. But he was found not guilty. And they have making his life hell ever since. I remember the article last week where the guy that held all those hostages got 3 years time served. Or the hijacker who, after hiding 30 years got a year and a half. Our Justice system might as well just be ran by NBC.

Ain't Karma A Bitch!
-
this was as much a miscarriage of justice as his first trial. the white bitch judge should be stripped of her position. sanctimonious whore.
While I agree that OJ is finally getting his due for the murders previously that's not how our justice system is supposed to work. If people can carry out vengeance this time...why not next, or anytime? so much for justice being blind.

I never thought OJ killed them. Everyone seems to have forgotten about the long running feud between OJ's oldest son and Nicole. He hated her for breaking up his family. I think he did it and OJ covered up for him. But nontheless, he got what he had coming to him. He was to stupid after the first aquittal to go somewhere and sit his a** down. He knew they were gunning for him and he handed himself over to them. Not to mention that stupid ass book he wrote. Good for him, the man has no commonsense.
-
My point of view exactly jh64487. He deserves something that's for sure. But, this time the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Like Plaxico getting serious time for shooting self in the leg, once the media gets a hold of a gun issue the individual involved is screwed, yet child molesters and killers walk with probation. Our Media is getting out of hand they are like Caesars a thumbs up you live a thumbs down you die.
-
At first I thought like JuliusBC, karma is a bitch. Then I thought, that dumbass robbed somebody, what a dumb ass.
-
It's one thing to think the judge was pregisdece and maybe she was but I quit listening to someone who calls someone they don't even know a "bitch" and a "whore".
-
The judge shot her mouth like no lady that is for sure, she crossed the line, her leftie political views came gushing out. He will get it overturned just because of her comments. Although I wouldn't have called her that either, I mean it is pretty obvious that is the first one, she showed us that. But I am not 100% sure she ever was able get money for sex. So I wouldn't call her that.
