Barack Obama's website launches Digg-like question tool
By Wednesday evening, the day of the launch, 159,890 people had voted on 1,986 questions from 3,255 people.
Maybe one day we'll see this approach in the UK as well and hopefully awkward issues that we want to hear answers to won't get covered up.

What's not mentioned there is that the site is being censored. Any questions about Blagojevich are flagged, even if they are clear and polite.
Seems transparency isn't so transparent.

Who was it that said Obama wasn't going to take the reins of the internet revolution? This is a great leap in communication.
-
Hopefully it's the people voting and not "the people" voting.

This is going to be the most cutting edge White House in history.

So I checked out the forum and I have to say, impressed by the Obama Transition Team but dissapointed in some of the questions. Here is an example of a question that is being asked:
"What's your connection to pedophile author of "Memoirs of a Gash Gourmet". He's your real father? Was he your grandparents' drinking & dope buddy in Kansas as well as Hawaii? Did it warp you to be taken to whorehouses & strip joints w Dunham & Davis?"
Really? Lets squander away this wonderful opportunity to have an open dialogue with our future President. In the first 5 min. of being on the site I saw 7 questions about Obamas connection with the Illnois state Governor, a guy ranting about Obama wanting to take away theirs gun, someone asking him how much he paid the Supreme Court off for them to over look that he is an African muslim terrorist, 2 questions about if he helped Bill Ayers plan future bombings, and a guy asking about Area 51. So anyone who thinks Obama's team is censoring the site needs to actually visit the site before they start accusing anyone of anything.

Bottom line, Barack Obama is showing us over and over again that he values our voice and our opinions. He is eager to break new ground and engage us using the technology of the people. This is the president that I voted for.

I would ask President Elect Obama if he will use the Justice Department and his political capital to right the wrongs of the past eight years. He could take America to school and restore our Constitution at the same time. Far too many Americans do not understand the Constitution and the damage done for the past eight years. Hearings would inform the uninformed. Make the Bush administration state their case “out loud” in front of every American. Testimony under oath can’t be spun. It’s the truth and nothing but the truth, so help them God.
Bill Clinton did not use his political capital. He let George H. W. Bush walk away and look how that turned out for him. The Republicans didn't give him a pass, they used hearings to expose him for sex. Offense is the best defense. Barack Obama can not let them make him into a victim. First and foremost he must hold mainstream media accountable and shame them "out loud" for spinning (distorting) the truth. Eventually they would be afraid of being shamed by the President and his administration. They would start covering facts, instead of trying to spin (distort) facts. Barack Obama should keep his war room going until mainstream media realizes he is not going to let them spin any longer. Shame them into distinguising fact from fiction.

Our Constitution is the perfect prescription to fix what is ailing us. Used the way it was set up to work, we could get back on track. We could earn the trust of the world. Real trust is earned.
Former Prosecutor Elizabeth de la Vega wrote a book titled "United States vs. George W. Bush et al. In her book she walks the reader through seven days of Grand Jury testimony. She uses readily available documented facts to make her case.
Unfortunately, George W. controlled the Justice Department and they ignored evidence which would have led to hearings. Barack Obama's Justice Department should investigate facts and then decide if hearings are justified.

Right on connie and the ignorant among us might even learn something besides being lap dogs to the right wing.
