infoMania
Chewing up the week's media so we can regurgitate it, half-digested, into your mouth.

On this week's infoMania Rod Blagojevich has been a very bad boy, Sarah shows us why diamonds are a great substitute for intimacy, Carol Alt finally shows all, Sergio demonstrates how to properly sip Champagne, Conor finds out why we can't get enough of the Real Housewives and Brett dissects the disconnect between beast and machine.

infoMania is a half-hour satirical news show that airs on Current TV. The show puts a comedic spin on the 24-hour chaos and information overload brought about by the constant bombardment of the media. Hosted by Conor Knighton and co-starring Brett Erlich, Sarah Haskins, Ben Hoffman, and Sergio Cilli, the show airs on Thursdays at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific Times and can be found online at current.com/infomania. • The disclaimer about goldfish was meaningless.

Mr Erlich had what was clearly a Betta spelndens of the family Belontiidae.

A goldfish and a betta are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FISH.

Goldfish, or Carassius auratus of the Cyprinidae family (carps and minnows), have downward mouth openings, come from cool climates, prefering cooler oxygen rich waters, and breed via an egg mass which is scattered along the substrate. No parenting instinct is shown by breeding goldfish, and often will eat their own freshly fertilized eggs, or later, their own fry.

Bettas on the other hand have an dorsal mouth opening, a labyrinth organ which serves as sort of a lung, prefer warm stagnant waters, and breed by making a bubble nest. Males display protective parenting, guarding the young until they are fully formed adults. Members of both sexes of Betta splendens display complete complacency towards robots.

Come on guys. Where is your fact checking team?

    • What is this junk? I feel like I'm watching MTV news or E entertainment. This site has such potential as an alternative news source. It's a shame to see current fall in line with other ridiculous news sources.

    • Oh Sarah.
Shiny, sparkly, years worth of paychecks to please, Sarah.
I'm shocked. Nay. Stunned that you didn't include the Jared creepy talking car ad in your gem of a story.
      Nice work, folks.
