    • TheDodge, if you really believe that then you should read Powell's memoirs, as well as do some research. Powell wanted to resign two years before he was asked.

      He wanted to finish out Bush's first term in order to keep the illusion that the cabinet was strong during the times of 9/11 (which was necessary IMO). Once the first term was up he was asked because they had a nice "yes" woman ready to beckon at call.

      Whether you wish to believe him or not is up to you. I do believe it. If you were the President and one of your most prestigious cabinet members wanted to quit, wouldn't you want to save face and fire him first?

    • It doesn't wash the blood off his hands from Mei Lai and Iraq. But hey, if some are so easy to think that for him to trash Limbaugh is all he need do to "redeem" himself for the deaths his acquiescence caused, we now know why men like Bush get 'elected' in the first place.

      I for one am damned thankful at least some Repubs, no matter how bloody their hands, are pointing out the insanity that is the right wing screech machine.

    • I've always like General Powell. I liked him even more when he left the Bush administration in favor of his ethics and morals. This.......all he is doing is stating the obvious. Its up to the listeners to actually turn the knob on the radio.

      People like Limbaugh are no different than a shock jock.

    • Back in the 80's I was convinced Powell would be the first black president. I definitely would've voted for him.
      When he jumped ship and joined Bushco I was appalled and discouraged. Lately, he redeems himself every time he speaks. Go General!
