The World is on a teeter totter right now. The decisions the world makes in the next few years can make or break us as a civilization. It is my opinion we must change as a people. Becoming more caring toward our fellow earthlings. Change can only happen at the top. I believe that the 10 most powerful countries must lead by example. Many things need addressed, the amount of money spent on weapons is one thing, Farming is another, Energy is a big issue, World Peace, Water, Religious intolerance, Race, Waste, Over Population, Pollution, Hate, all these things have much room for improvement. We have to start somewhere. If we don't we deserve our fate. As one of the most powerful America has to lead but not in the way that she has led. Our leaders need some humility. We all are just people, and someday as it did with the financial state, the world state might change. We should be more prepared for it, if something drastic happens. We know the answers too most of our problems, we just need to implement them. I would like posters to leave suggestions on the above topics, please leave all the hate and partisan BS at the door, don't attack fellow posters no matter how stupid they sound, lets just get along on this one.

    • We can unite under one cause or purpose to achieve something more to contribute to peace and helping this world{environment} for something that we will all be thankful for, but first before we can have peace around this world, one must first achieve peace within oneself...

    • Waste is bad. I had hoped for more posters on this article. This was a chance to sound off, express new ideas etc. I guess it is just easier to complain about the worlds problems instead of working to find a way to fix them. But there never is a shortage of opinions when somebody states what think would work. This says a lot. Thank you, to the six people who did stand up and participate.

    • Katanajon:

You might do better to work on one or two problems at a time. Nobody has the time or desire to solve all the world's problems in one sitting. They don't even have the focus to sit STILL for 30!

    • I only have a quote for you and I'm afraid it isn't very helpful: IF WISHES WERE HORSES; BEGGARS WOULD RIDE. And this: John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

    • The very first place to start should be obvious. End waste. There's both a food shortage, and a fresh water shortage in this world. Over half of all food produced is wasted, and the amount of fresh water in that food only complicates the losses. If all people treated these most essential resources with the proper respect they truely deserve, over time, it would go a loooong way toward ending shortages. Because once everyone adopted an attitude of conservation they would be more naturaly conservative in their spending habits too.Waste not, want not.

    • Yes, many pressures on citizens and governments everywhere.

But --- Where do the solutions lie? That is the essential question. KatanaJon's suggestion is a great starting place: "Time to Vulcan up."

    • If we want to survive, we have to drop money and resort back to trade. We put far too much value in a piece of paper and it's totally fucked us. Money values change all the time with inflation, taxes, fuck. Four tomatoes is always 4 tomatoes.
