nice doc, but geezzz big family. have a lot of respect for the Dad having accepted the children that weren't his. I know a lot of other dads don't accept step kids well at all, and he's al least trying to teat them all fairly.

This short film is of my partner and my family it was filmed over a year ago i have only just seen the short clip of it
I am pleased with all the postive comments on the role my partner plays 1 as a father 2 as a partner
To the people that are say i spend alot on my children at christmas i would like to say yes i may have spent £200 each on them at christmas but they dont et alot though the year so they do get alot at christmas
And to the person who said i should have spent the money on decorating the house this was film nearly 18 months ago and since we have decorated the house top to bottom
To all those people that think we are mad for having a big family there is worse things on this planet than having a big family me myself i dont argee the abortions i love my children they are my world and anthony is my rock and he is a brilliant dad
I would love to make another video of our family now nearly 2 years on to see how things are now and to show people how we have grown as a family - 11 months ago

Hi Sara
I've just seen your comment on this website and I'm really happy that you feel positively about the film. I've been trying to get in touch with AJ but the number I have for him doesn't seem to work. The film has been screened quite widely and been very well received and people really admire him, as I do. I would be happy to do some more filming with you guys at some point, I also have some nicely authored DVDs for you.
I will pop by the house when I can but I have been working outside Bristol alot so it's been a bit difficult.
All the best to you guys and the rest of your lovely family.

I feel kind of bad for him because he seems like a good guy but looks unhappy. Also, he is only 23 and already pretty much has his life set with so many children to take care of. I wish him and his family the best.

I'm sure they are all going to have a bright future with enough love and intelligence to go around. oh wait, no they're not. yuck. their neighbors should go fix them.

I'm caught between how uncomfortable it is to watch this piece based on a family that, at first glance, are rather unappealing and how incredible it is to see this character, Anthony, doing something a large population of men are incapable of: playing the male role model for both his biological and acquired children.
Kudos to him for taking on a huge job most are terrified to take on. Hope the future is bright for this bunch.

Not only did he stick around to raise his own kids, but this guy has also taken responsibility for kids that aren't even his!?
Good for him....but he doesn't seem very happy.I think the mother is a cougar by the way. I hope she's done.

I had to log in to vote this up and comment. A great snapshot of another family's lifestyle. It seems like they're hanging in there. I wish them good luck. Great documentary.

Instead of spending £200 on each child it should have been more like 60 and they should have invested in fixing that house.
that aside, I have to commend this bloke for taking care of children that are biologically not his. There are blokes out there, as we all know, who refuse to take care of their own and here he is doing it for not one or two, but five. Good on ya.

I can't see myself in his shoes anytime soon but one thing is for sure, he's dealing with his responsibilities of being a father quite well.

I agree with the comment above - it's so easy to judge but bloody hell, he's trying his best and at 23 he's more mature than many of the 30 year old dads I know.

fantastic obs-doc! it's a non-judgmental snapshot of a man and his family, who could be labelled all too easily as chavs or whatnot. in fact, he's an admirable father for what he's been through and where he comes from. really nice intimacy in the actuality, plus great characters and well shot.

It's amazing to think that it was a normal thing for people to create large families when they were young. My how times have changed.
