Israel and Apartheid

Israel is nothing like Apartheid.

As South African Minister of Home Affairs Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi declared during a visit to Israel in 2003, “The Israeli regime is not apartheid. It is a unique case of democracy.”

Even Jimmy Carter had to admit, “There is nothing in Israel resembling apartheid.”

Apartheid was a legal system that enforced discrimination, segregation and oppression based on skin color. Israel is the opposite. Its legal system enforces equal civil and political rights for all citizens regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

Israelis are a vibrant multiracial, multi-ethnic mix of people from all over the world, and the 20 percent non-Jewish minority enjoys the same freedoms and protections. Gays, Christians, Congolese and Sudanese fleeing from persecution have received refuge in Israel.

Israel is the only Middle Eastern country where the Christian population is thriving.

Israeli-Arabs have a higher standard of living, education, and civil and political liberties than average citizens living in any other Middle Eastern country.

Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza are not Israeli citizens. They want their own state, not Israeli citizenship.

When Palestinians attack Israelis, over 80 percent were civilians versus when Israel responses, there are only 36 percent civilian Palestinian casualties. That tells you who is targeting civilians, and who is targeting the bad guys.

    • Why can't the port of Al' Arish be used to support Gaza? The port has a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, there's a good road to the Gaza border and it's only 40km.

      This could bring some immediate relief to the blockade and be developed into a permanent supply route. Or does Egypt not want to deal with Hamas either?

      I like you at least you havea solution and you don't just argue about Israel dang it gets people fired up when you defend Israel sheesh. Oh well I am just saying what i believe to be true and the inside demon is coming out of people lol well i love smart people like you this world needs you God bless.

    • This is all an attempt to stir up things so that all nations will rise against Israel. Remember its the eye for an eye mentality that keeps this thing going. brother hating brother.

    • That is Israels land. Palestinians should leave. Who cares if they want their own state they can't take it from Israel because they have Jews and christians there.

      In 2007, According to Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group and B'tselem, Palestinians murdered 473 Palestinians. The number of Palestinians killed by the Israel Defense Forces in 2007 decreased by 43 percent since last year, to 373, 20% less than those killed by fellow Palestinians.

      Maybe because Israel has specialized weapons provided by the American government and Palestinians only have what they can buy from the black market, donated to them or build in their homes.

      And, I suspect that Israel and western media do not accurately report the amount of Palestinian civilians who are murdered due to the illegal occupation of said region.
