Why Obama really might decriminalize marijuana

Image...
In July, Obama told Rolling Stone that he believed in "shifting the paradigm" to a public-health approach: "I would start with nonviolent, first-time drug offenders. The notion that we are imposing felonies on them or sending them to prison, where they are getting advanced degrees in criminality, instead of thinking about ways like drug courts that can get them back on track in their lives -- it's expensive, it's counterproductive, and it doesn't make sense."

Meanwhile, economists have been making the beer argument. In a paper titled "Budgetary Implications of Marijuana Prohibition," Dr. Jeffrey Miron of Harvard argues that legalized marijuana would generate between $10 and $14 billion in savings and taxes every year -- conclusions endorsed by 300 top economists, including Milton "Free Market" Friedman himself.

And I imangine that legalizing it will make it ok for the president to smoke marijuana leading the country into a horrible downward spiral. America will be so doped up it will not even realize that we are slowly going down the tubes and as Sarah Palin said Russia will be coming over to take over!!!!!! Way to go Obama.... leading our country right into the hands of Russia.

  •

We could do so much more with Marijuana then just smoking it. It would be a huge step for America to legalize it. Hemp could replace our dependency on oil, give us more durable clothing, medicine, paper, biodegradable plastics, and health food. It runs parallel with us having a "Green Future". Hemp requires little to no pesticides, no herbicides, controls erosion of the topsoil, and produces oxygen. Furthermore, hemp can be used to replace many potentially harmful products, such as tree paper (the processing of which uses bleaches and other toxic chemicals, and contributes to deforestation), cosmetics, and plastics, most of which are petroleum-based and do not decompose easily.

Well unless you believe Sarah Palin and Russia is going to take us over....LOL

Be it good business or the ethical thing to do: marijuana should be legalized, taxed and regulated for medical and recreational purposes.

Note to Obama: legalize it! Tax it! who cares as long as we can grow and toke without fear of arrest and jail right people? For the guy who said Obama toking in the white house would ruin the country: people like you ruin the country! The nation that tokes together will be a healthier and happier nation and for that matter the world who tokes together will be a happier and healthier world! free of war! free of injustice! Cannabis For Everyone!

Let's not confuse pot with hemp. Legalizing pot has nothing to do with decreasing our dependence on foreign oil.

I'm calling this to be his final move at the end of his presidency. Remember where he came from... it's possible.

Phoenix Tears is a not for profit entity dedicated to Hemp medicines and providing information about the use of natural Hemp oil, (not Hemp Seed oil) as an effective treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses.

Also I think he should decriminalize and/or legalize. Sadly though I fear he will be cowardly on this issue.
