Girls heart grows back after surgery

Image...
Born with a rare heart condition usually fatal with children, Kirsty Collier was fighting for her life aged just four months.

After miraculous surgery involving a third of her heart being cut away, Kirsty's heart began to beat again.

Ten years later, doctors have even more reason to be surprised by the original surgery.

Kirsty's heart has fully grown back to the size of a normal ten-year-old. Furthermore, there is no evidence of any scarring on the heart from the original operation as the organ has fully healed itself. Something Doctors thought was near impossible and an adult hear wouldn't do.

That's absolutely incredible, it grew back with no scars?! It's quite interesting too how there haven't been any recorded cases of this before since it's such an important "discovery".

I wonder if this could lead to something more... like further understanding of the development of organs that may lead to some new kind of organ donation.

Maybe it's a long shot. Just a thought...

Some people might, should I say it, call it a miracle, but that's a bad word on here.

I find it hard to believe anymore that there's anything that's not possible.

Tell me if this is cold. Would we as a species would be better off if people with fatal diseases/defects died as a result of them instead of being saved by advances in medical technology? I know everyone wants their chance to have children and for said children to grow up. Infertile couples are infertile for a reason and birth defects/diseases are fatal for a reason... Isn't this just screwing us as a species in the long run? Allowing people who survive their genetic defects to have a chance to reproduce? Sort of an anti-darwinism?

... then again we are what we are because of mutations... i dont know, what do you think?

Weeks ago there was an article concerning a young Indian girl born with her heart external to her body.... It had developed that way in the womb and was as fully formed as any other at that age, save the fact it was both inside and outside her chest.

Does anyone know what came from that instance?
That child was recently born, THIS article seems to tell the success story of a 10 years gone development...

I truly hope that young girl in India came through and survived and will continue to do so, living as healthy a life as possible.

Worship the God of miracles for a sunrise, Jesus feeding thousands of people from less than is naturally possible, and for His gift to humanity of all the facility by which we may do science. Praise Him for all good things, because none would exist without Him. Praise His - ooooh - holy name for happy little girls. Praise Him!!
