Venus once had as much water as Earth - What happened?

The high temperature is primarily due to a runaway greenhouse effect caused by the heavy atmosphere of carbon dioxide.,,,

I find it odd that at 500 degrees celcius there is still a lil bit of water

Humans once inhabited Venus.

haha
that'd be an explanation for why there is no water...

man. i been watching all this armageddon 2012 bullshit on the history channel lately, and it scares the living shit outta me. they go through dozens of different ways that our entire civilization can be wiped out in the blink of an eye . supervolcanoes, gamma rays, nuclear holocaust, mega tsunamis, etc..... really makes you feel kind of unimportant in the grand scheme of things if your entire civilization can be wiped off the map in an instant.

Well we have all heard of the saying that "Humans are the earths cancer."

Maybe the humans who lived on Venus over-polluted their planet too...

Yeah I guess scientists, such as Al Gore, have found humanoid bones and the remains of technology that would have caused runaway pollution... thus creating so much global warming that Venus spontaneously combusted & is still doing that.
Whew. Glad we got THAT out of the way. Bet that's what happened on Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus as well. They probably have scientists varifieing those exact facts that global warming is made my human parasites and their "technology" as the DEATH to all life on every planet that ever existed.
Who would have thought?

Right is right. People must have killed Venus and eaten her like maggots on warm meat. viva Gobal Warming.

Our impact on this planet is so miniscule that would put Al Gore to shame. Although I am all for Green Energy and not polluting our planet, truth is, our driving and flying isnt the cause of Global Warming.
Our magnetic poles are moving, and possibly will flip. Why? Our magnetic poles are controlled by the Inner Core and liquid metal surrounding it within the earth. No one knows why they move but we know it is because of whats inside the earth.
These magnetic poles flip around every 5000 or more years, and 2012 comes in as the next pressumed date for this fliping.
Since the magnetic poles are conected with our atmosphere and protecting us from radiation from space, we have to pay attention to what effect their movement has on our atmosphere. The effect is that our atmosphere weakens and allows more radiation to pass while the poles move.
now if the poles completely flip, which can happen within an hour, who knows what the consequences would be. We all could possibly boil alive, or huge earthquakes could swallow us down, no one really knows.
But, as much as Al Gore makes me smile, i have to say that this is due to magnetic pole shifting or fliping and very little by us.
Apparently the magetic poles have been moving an inch a year, and speeding up their distance every year. what is in store for us? i think the mayans, hopi, and many other civilizations knew.

The problem with the magnetic pole shifting theory is that the poles have shifted before, and there has been no evidence, fossil or otherwise to support that the sudden shift of the magnetic poles has had an extreme effect upon either the atmosphere or the life on this planet (excluding the organisms that use the magnetic poles to navigate).
You are correct that our overall effect upon the planet is minuscule. In fact in the entire time of our existence and in the entire time of what is left of our existence, we will likely not even make a dent to the planet. The problem is the atmosphere that covers the planet. The atmosphere is very minuscule compared to the actual planet, and with a population in the billions and climbing, our species is very capable of fundamentally altering the atmosphere. Especially if we continue to take out natural atmospheric controls, particularly plant life that removes certain molecules from the air and replaces them with something else.

I get tired of explaining the whole pole shift thing every time someone mentions it. But search my posts from December and you'll find a concise explanation about the causes and effects.

we should all start to do somthing.
theres plenty of people postin this stuff every day. plenty that read. however no one knows the actual truth.
So! what we can do is alow our planet to correct the current damage. (which wont happen wihtout an ice age.) and we should keep trying to push this Green movement, so that there is minal impact on earth.
it is currently the fastest pregression of warmth ever. -
Venus is visable in the sky every night, check it out. It's the brightest "star"

The truth is we have no idea what the entity we refer to as Earth has done in the past or will do in the future. To say humanity has little to no effect on Earth is as arrogant as saying that we're capable of destroying the planet. Like any host, Earth will take a defensive position and eradicate us if need be once we offend her too much. What choice would she have?
In the meantime, love your mother...
