As the Arabs see the Jews

This is an illuminating read. Gives some clarity and perspective.Synopsis:
This fascinating essay, written by King Hussein’s grandfather King Abdullah, appeared in the United States six months before the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. In the article, King Abdullah disputes the mistaken view that Arab opposition to Zionism (and later the state of Israel) is because of longstanding religious or ethnic hatred. He notes that Jews and Muslims enjoyed a long history of peaceful coexistence in the Middle East, and that Jews have historically suffered far more at the hands of Christian Europe. Pointing to the tragedy of the holocaust that Jews suffered during World War II, the monarch asks why America and Europe are refusing to accept more than a token handful of Jewish immigrants and refugees. It is unfair, he argues, to make Palestine, which is innocent of anti-Semitism, pay for the crimes of Europe. King Abdullah also asks how Jews can claim a historic right to Palestine, when Arabs have been the overwhelming majority there for nearly 1300 uninterrupted years? The essay ends on an ominous note, warning of dire consequences if a peaceful solution cannot be found to protect the rights of the indigenous Arabs of Palestine.

Firstly, the irony of this. the jews suffer eons of persecution, then, promptly on finding a "home of their own" they begin to commit the same atrocities on the people who had lived there before them as had been committed against them. isn't that exactly what happened in the bible as well? anyone remember the story of harag? I would say maybe Jewish people are stupid but I realize it's only a little more than half that are horrible people. Just like America. sigh.
Secondly, stop responding to datamined. she's probably just a 16 year old with nothing else to do. She doesn't have any real valid points that you couldn't get off any zionist website. ignoring trolls is the best way to make them go away.
Thirdly...datamined...from your other posts...you're clearly racist. you should work on that.

As an Arab, I found this essay very interesting, and it echoes the Arab world's views on Israel perfectly, despite it being nearly half a century old. And this is an important observation- the views held by King Abdullah are as alive today as they were back then.
But what's done is done, and I personally garner no hatred towards Jews, and I was brought up by my family to not hold prejudice against them. They [the common man or woman] are, after all, just as hungry for a resolution as we are.
But Arabs are proud people, and they will never rest their laurels until Palestine is reclaimed. And equally, no matter what the consensus and media says, Israel will never understand the concept of diplomacy as a form of avoiding warfare.

In 1957 and again in 1967, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) determined that Jews fleeing from Arab countries were refugees who fell within the mandate of the UNHCR.
the United States’ Chief Delegate to the United Nations, who was instrumental in drafting the unanimously adopted U.N. Resolution 242, has pointed out that:
“A notable omission in 242 is any reference to Palestinians, a Palestinian state on the West Bank or the PLO. The resolution addresses the objective of ‘achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem.’ This language presumably refers both to Arab and Jewish refugees, for about an equal number of each abandoned their homes as a result of the several wars….”

HOW THE JEWS SEE THE ARABS
In 1948 at the creation of the State of Israel, Jews from all the Arab countries were forced out or harassed until they left.
The land lost by Jews who fled was estimated by the UN to be worth 10X's that of any property lost by Arabs who fled Israel in 1948. When will they be reimbursed?
More Jews were expelled from Arab lands than Arabs were expelled from Israel!
When will the Sephardic Jews get justice, where is the UN, where is Europe, where are all the other so-called progressives, that claim to want justice.
The facts are these. Almost 1 million Jews were expelled in the 1950's from their homes where they had been for thousands of years. They were not allowed to keep any of their land or property.
Imagine the uproar if Israel just expelled _all_ palestinians without money, houses, or possessions. that's exactly what the arabs did to the jews in the 1950's. Almost a million Jews.

Not at all. Israel doesn't expell. They just build fences around every square acre or so and patrol them, blocking traffic and hoping the locals will take the hint.
