PARIS, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy, speaking ahead of a trip to the Middle East, blamed Hamas for "the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza."In an interview with three Lebanese newspapers to be published Monday, Sarkozy said Hamas, which decided to break a truce and resumed rocket attacks on Israel, bears "a heavy responsibility for the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza."
Sarkzoy denounced Hamas' continuing rocket fire as "an unacceptable provocation" during an interview with An Nahar, As Safir and L'Orient le Jour.

If HAMAS was truly honoring the "ceasefire" and had honorable intentions, how do you explain the tunnels being dug? Were they building a subway or looking for gophers?

one side did this one side did that argument will only get you back to issac and ishmael from the old testament its a waste of time and energy for no resolution will be found. the big picture is if hamas says enough it will be over. if hamas stops launching attacks at jewish civilians and stops being a terrorist orginization they will be listened to but they are not willing to live in peace with anyone not muslum.by the way pressrecord how many times was it that isreal went in front of thier public and stated they would kill every last arab?never. yet all major broadcasts from the palastinians come with a message that all jews must die. how should isreal make peace with that?

i agree with you that the blame game (although fun with datamined) will never result to anything positive. that's just what it is, a game, and an academic waste of research time, although i've grown more informed from it.
i also realize that lifting the israeli military blockade on gaza will not assure the end of rocket attacks. in fact, it may grow as a result. nevertheless, the occupation is at the heart of it as well as the israeli attacks on civilians. the contempt against jews are driven by israeli policies coupled with extremist imams that have a hold on less educated muslim populations. i know all that.
as far as israel never saying they would kill every last arab, one thing i can say is "actions speak louder than words." from the beginning, it has been the zionist agenda to "reclaim" the land from arabs as a means of an expansionist regime. the native jews weren't like that.
how to make peace with that? abolish the apartheid system of a jewish only statehood and relieve the control of the Holy Land to a neutral autonomy could be a start. what do you think?
this whole thing is a mess. i love judah and i love islam but jews and arabs in that region have a grossly disproportionate treatment and i relegate the ultimate blame not on Isaac and Ismael but the US, UK, and the UN.

i believe "cease-fire" means CEASE FIRE! if you start making military maneuvers and shoot bullets and kill during the cease-fire, YOU VIOLATE THE TRUCE.
how dense do you have to be to not get that??!! are you now nit picking because you fail to accept the facts? no rockets from gaza, no military blockade and maneuvers into gaza. it's that simple!
foil.
(but, contrary to all our back and forth arguing, i'm starting to like you. you're very stubborn).

@pressrecord --
you claimed israel violated a ceasefire but you don't even know what the ceasefire agreement said!
you have failed. you are unable to back up even that basic fact -- what is the ceasefire agreement? what does it say? how can you claim that israel violated it if you don't know what it says!

now you want the exact text? lol
there's nothing i could say or show that would change your mind so why bother? if you google "israel violates cease fire" you should find numerous articles on the IDF incursion into Gaza last november that resulted in the murder of two youths, which prompted the rocket attacks in december.
i'm not antagonizing you anymore, datamined. you're doing a fine job on your own. but i really think you're doing jews/israelis a great disservice by insisting on the legitimacy of the israeli government's continuous violence against arabs. it only proves how short-minded israel's side is and invites more contempt against jews. especially here on current.
but, if anyone else is too lazy to do their own research, here's a link or two to articles from independent associated press regarding the breakdown of the truce between israel in hamas, as agreed in june of last year:

it was israel's violation of the cease-fire in november by murdering two youths in gaza that prompted the rocket attacks.

I look for Sarkozy to be a major player in the coming years. Gordon Brown is on thin ice, and no one knows about Barack Obama. He seems the only one willing to stand up to Putin. I think he is a real leader.
