Israel halts campaign for 3 hours to let in aid

I am willing to accept any cease-fire at all right now. So happy to know that supplies are being taken into Gaza, They are much needed.. I will continue doing what ever I can to show my support untill this is over with. I just hope it continues and the killings will stop. Peace to all

I remember a 6 weeks ago someone here saying "MILLIONS STARVING TO DEATH IN GAZA", and yet not a single case of starvation occurred, let alone "ZOMG MILLIONS!!!" Talk about credibility gap.

As i have said before, it is easy to see that this conflict has passionate opinions on both sides. It is key to understand that this is a conflict between two very religious nations and not a conflict between religious groups.

I'm hoping that sooner rather than later, Israel won't need to "allow" aid in to reach Palestinians... because the fighting will have stopped altogether and aid won't be necessary. Here's hoping.

This is all insanity. So they allow three hours for the people there to do what exactly? How do we know all of those supplies will even get to those who need it most to do any good in that limited frame of time? If they can stop for three hours why can't they stop for ten? Or twenty? Their bombing won't stop anything from the other side. It has now I am sure only intensified their resolve to keep it going. How absolutely inane all sides are in this.

And actually, I think I am going to stop responding in posts about this. I can no longer stand the same hateful droning that goes on from some in every thread. I'm tried of seeing the same back and forth and intimating that because you are for human rights you are a terrorist sympathizer. I wouldn't be surprised if people were being paid by certain interests to post their propaganda on the Internet.

it's good we are talking about it. it is a situation that isn't going away any time soon. before i continue let me state some facts. I am Jewish and have lived in Israel. I am also a lover of all peoples and understand that we all are intricately connected and need each other to continue our upward and onward process as a global family - there, i've said it.

now for some other realities:

hamas is a terrorist organisation. they are not 'freedom fighters' or heros but terrorists. they don't just want an independent palestinian state but also to destroy israel completely. check out their website.

most people in israel and the palestinian territories want peace and recognize that co-existence is only the beginning to a very difficult and painful road toward complete acceptance... and even love!

problem is (and this is also a fact) it's hard to talk to someone who wants you utterly destroyed and hamas and hizballah will do anything - pls. read anything to achieve their aims. even firing rockets form UN schools. i've lived through and witnessed these rocket attacks and they are very frightening. they do not want peace. they do not want autonomy. they want complete control and all jews, christian and druze sympathizers wiped off the planet. again, fact not fiction.

so, let's not pray for peace, or love, or even understanding. just that we all will begin to feel what others are feeling and see that when i hate you, i hate myself. maybe then we can begin to heal.

we are forgeting that humanitarian aide in arab lands is like feeding the black market. the aid seldom gets to the people who need it because corrupt leaders see a profit in it. lets hope for once those in need recieve. and to all of you chastising isreal for giving ONLY 3 hrs of ceased fighting remeber its 2hrs and 59minutes more than isreal would recieve. thats right arab countries tried to destroy isreal on yom kippur when the country was believed to be most vulnerable. damned if you do damned if you dont.

The way I'm seeing it, if it is a temporary cease-fire and Israel will continue attacks later on, that this hads turned uglier than before. You see, people have hope that violence will stop, but when another attack comes and friends or family are killed, it ruins them pcychologically. For Israel, this is the same as knocking pins down and setting half of them up again. The remainder will then be stomped on and destroyed.
